I upgraded from the 2018 model but stayed at 11". User experience wise not much difference but I upgraded mainly for 5G.

Whether you wish to upgrade to 12.9" is entirely up to your usage but I also have a MacBook Pro. Do note that iPads cannot fully replace MacBooks. Since you already have a desktop, it's fine.

If you don't mind the bulk and weight of the 12.9", and don't bring out often, it'll make a swell iPad. Portability wise, the 11" is king.

I passed my 2018 IPP to lil one so she can use for HBL and school HW which also allows me to set screen time on her device.
I bought a 2021 IPP. Performance and battery wise I didn't feel any difference compared to 2018 IPP.

I ditched my laptop in 2017, anything that cannot be done via iPad, I will do a RDP to my desktop to do.

Anyone upgraded to the m1 ipad pro 11 coming from the 2020 model?

CAn notice anything different in day to day use especially in battery life?

Yes, I also faced the same bulging issue at the centre of the magnetic hinge just below the smart connector. I noticed the bulge getting more obvious about 4/5 days into using it when I bought my iPP together with the Combo Touch.

When I return to Apple Store 1 week later to get my Pencil 2, I highlighted the observation and the Apple Specialist immediately offer to do a replacement. When the Specialist pass me the brand new Combo Touch replacement, I examined closely to confirm there was no bulge for new set. However again after 4-5 days of usage, I notice the bulge and the gap between the magnetic hinge and the keyboard cover getting obvious again. I do not bother to change since, it did not affect my keyboard function. Suspect could be a adhesive issue.

So it indeed is a common issue. I suspect might not be an adhesive issue, but might be the components inside the connector part. When the keyboard is attached, the pins push against the metal contactors on the case and it adds pressure, pushing against the plastic hinge which caused the bulge.

Though it’s minor but I can live with it for now. This might be a design issue instead.

Anyone uses a USB-C to HDMI adapter? Or is a USB-C hub a better option? Any recommendations?

Want to connect to my monitor to play some games with DualShock 4.

For those wondering if you should upgrade from 2018 & 2020 to the M1 iPad Pro, it's not worth the upgrade.

According to the benchmarks, M1 is noticeably faster, but in the real world usage, it's not going to make you noticeably more productive.

I've both the M1 and the 2018 which I can't sell because there are too many problems. I'm still using my 2018 model a lot. Main difference I can visually see is the M1 iPad Pro is brighter but that could be because I've used my 2018 for 2.5 years already.

Mini LED is nice to have certainly. But it's not a downside if you don't have that. Having several hundreds of dollars in your pocket is better because you can use that to upgrade when your current iPad Pro physically breaks down.

Mini-LED is nice to have but not a must. The current liquid retina displays on the 11” models are just as great and I’ve absolutely no problems with it. Next year’s 11” models will be equipped with mini-LEDs and Apple is going in that direction now for their iPads and Macs, and possibly future iPhones too.

Hello anyone knows why the earliest shipping date for the ipad pro 11' is 22 july? I thought Apple always within 24 hrs ship.

Depends on stock availability. Not all item is 24 hrs ship. I recently bought my M1 MacBook Pro which was not the base model (upgraded ram and storage) and it took like 1 week+ to arrive.

What's a good matte screen protector that still gives good accuracy for apple pencil for illustration?
