Yes 16" model will use the current intel processor on the 15" models since the release time frame for Intel 10th gen processor is not aligned to Apple potential launch of the 16" model unless Intel release custom processor for the 16".

The key improvement will be the new chipset that is going to handle the image and AR processing. Some of the processing will be offloaded to this new chipset too. Multicore will still see gains albeit not as much now since this new chipset can take away some loads from the main processor.

Not to forget geekbench is not updated to support the new chipset so there could be some limitation.

exactly done this... upgraded from iphone x to iphone x coz it only cost me $400 when recontracting to singtel.. I feel no valid reason to buy newer XS model last year hehe

Well, Apple users can wait for the price to crash and they’ll continue to use older generation devices. But the price after crashed will also be higher than if the price did not increase. So your point is invalid too.

In general, Apple user is less price sensitive and they are the one who control the price market including those from competitors’ camp.

I will wait for price drop for the 11 pro then buy, or if i recontract. 6 months more price of 11 pro will drop. Since i am holding the XS now, no incentive for me to spend so much to buy when it just launch. Rather save a few hundreds more and wait.
