I'm re-contracting for the new iPhone, but the back square camera module looks like Huawei's Mate 20 series.

USB C will most likely be only out next year along with onscreen Touch ID if it happens.

Jony Ive left Apple so future iPhone wont have much innovation

LOL You will be so wrong with this. As much as its sad to see the legendary designer leaving Apple, he has not been working on the recent products. Look out for an exciting future with Evans Hankey now the lead industrial designer for Apple.

Anyone gonna switch to iPhone 11 when it launches in September?

Seems like general consensus is that it’s gonna be a disappointing product this time round, no big changes.

It will be a disappointment to all the haters out there but I can safely tell you the camera will be something of a leap in quality thanks to the new A13 chipset along with the new ISP. Night mode will be on another level. Notice Apple arrange the camera lenses in a triangular layout. The lenses in this layout will be of equi-distance so expect to see some major upgrades on the camera itself.

Yup agreed with some points. So what if a known person is leaving Apple. It may not be bad news. In fact, it could lead to improvements in innovation in the future since the past years Apple has not been exactly innovative enough. Huawei is catching up fast or even overtake in terms on innovation.

I just hope the ugly squarish back camera design isn't true for the upcoming model.

Square-ish camera design will be in the final product. The actual product will look good I'm sure. You must remember that it's the iPhone which changes the smartphone market and Apple is always not the first mover in the market. They only release something usable and stable enough for the market to take notice. Also note that the Face ID has not been replicated by anyone else. That's not to say Android manufacturers are not innovative. However, they give Apple ideas to make another feature looks even better and shift the market.

Currently 2 schools of expectations for the 11.

First is usb C, extra camera lens, probably wide angle, and a design more like the iPad Pro. This would be the best if it actually turns out like that.

Second is no big improvements, not even camera since Apple cancelled a camera improvement couple of days ago with another company. Still lightning port and same design. This would be the worst case scenario as the major improvement will probably come with 11s, which would be weird since the S are always improvements without design changes.

Design already leaked. So don't expect any major changes to the housing expect for the camera and the mute switch. Lightning port will be retained since Apple has just opened up Lightning to USB-C to 3rd party manufacturer. Lighting will be retained on the iPhone for a foreseeable future unless they can remove it altogether or come up with something even smaller.

If i'm going to change to this new iphone, it's only for the camera and nothing else. Period.

I hope the camera module looks different from the models we have seen. As in the colours of the inlays should match the phone colour. As usual, there must be a reason why Apple stuck to the ugly camera design. It should serve a functional purpose that we might not be aware of.

If the XIs has frosted glass back, take my money Apple!

I think the only improvement made is the chip.
The design will look the same except for the camera module

That’s good enough to warrant the purchase for most. I feel the hardware improvement has reached its course. It’s the battle of OS and optimisation now.

Seems like every time before a new phone is launched its the same comments. Nothing new lah. Boring design lah. But in the end still got super long queues overnight & a lot of those are the same ppl saying nothing new. Lol!
haha typical isheep. complain till no choice then still buy.

well currently still the same 3 yr cycle for new design. so 2020 iphone is next best thing. likely 5g, new design, usbc, etc..

Sent from Samsung SM-G975F using GAGT

This year the upgrades are mostly speed, camera and signal strength, especially 4G and wifi signal strength is going to get better from what I heard. Design from the front should be similar to last year. On the back, we already know how it might look with that camera "stove" design. I would like them to bring some new colours and make the existing ones more interesting with depth like the Galaxy S10 prism white, or something to that effect.:s22:

Better security and better privacy please.

Better night shooting camera with super fast processing speed so don’t have to wait few seconds to see the photo like Pixel.

Better battery life please.

i think it's abit hard.

Pixel's night sight depends a lot on post processing.

Apple always previews in real time.

personally i think Night Sight sort of thing is not coming to Apple. at least not that soon.

then again. if the scene is so dark, how do you compose the photo in the first place~
shoot liao the shot turns out liked a day shot.
don't get me wrong. the technology is impressive as hell. jus a bit salty that's all.

as for low light, yes. i think it will improve. by how much, maybe the 3rd lens is the key~?

Yes. I do not understand the hype for night sight. It's artificially altered photos that makes it fake.
