Got my 11PM during launch week.

It's at 95% now. Just enjoy the phone, try not to think too much about the battery health. :s13:

Agree. My 11 Pro Max also got it during Singtel’s launch event at MBS and now at 97%. In contrast, my XS Max which was purchased on Nov 2018 is 96% now.

I tried using coconutbattery to check the capacity. The XS Max is correct but strangely the 11 Pro Max is still at 100%. :s22:

My iPhone XR bought new in December 2018 still 100% maximum capacity. I didn't particularly took care of it. Always charge it before 50% battery use and I use any kind of charging method from 3rd party cables, wireless charging and also fast charging. Honestly I think its because I don't game on the phone hence the battery is kept pretty cool most of the time.

The key thing really to not charge it all the time, not unless you going out

Anyone downloading large files using safari? (More den 1gb)
I am experiencing random pauses, it doesn't fully download, I need to go back and resume every once in a while, pause every 100mb or so. Anyone experienced the same?

Buy a phone just charge when you feel a need to.

You control the phone, not the phone control you.

Definitely not WiFi, other devices download fine. I read online 13.2 have this download issue. I haven got the phone then, just got it recently. Seems like issue not fixed? Or Apple don’t see it as an issue to be fixed. Doesn’t allow prolong background download activity, no wonder battery life so good.

My 3 month old iphone 11 maximum capacity drop to 98%. While my 3 year old iPhone 8 is still at 96%. Why does the maximum capacity drop so fast for the new phones. Understand that it is inevitable for it to drop by it’s just too fast. My friend’s iphone 11 still at 100% at 4.5 months. But he doesnt charge to full always.

So should I charge till 80%++ then plug out? Will it be able to prolong the battery lifespan?

Like I said, too much data is bad. I don't even know how credible is the battery data.

One observation is that is very odd that you iPhone 8 battery health is still at 96% after 3 years. That is almost impossible if you have been using it.

You cannot compare your phone battery health with another person's because your usage pattern may differ greatly. 98% isn't a huge drop either.

Charging to full or not doesn't make a huge difference. It really depends how many cycles have you depleted. 1 cycle = 0 to 100%.

Anyway, I agree that you should just use your phone normally. The phone is supposed to provide you with convenience. By going out of the way to "save" the battery, which will eventually have to die, doesn't make sense.

As much as ppl are saying Apple can have lower ram because iOS is efficient, I realised this issue is because of low ram size. System probably doesn’t have enough ram to run my download in the background continuously so auto close my background download. I cleared the ram (google online) and download is smoother. I can’t confirm if this is coincidence but I think ram is the issue.

This could be a bug in iOS rather than a RAM issue. I normally don't download big files from the web, so I can't really comment. But logically, your downloads have nothing to do with the amount if RAM. Even a 2GB Windows 10 device can do that without any issue. If it was a RAM limitation, then the same problem will also surface on the App Store downloads over a certain size.

Well, that’s true but isn’t windows famous for keeping everything open and doesn’t stop any background activity, leading to slow down, hangs and failures? But yea, it could be how iOS is utilising the ram, the priority of how the different tasks are closed automatically. If it’s a bug, hopefully it’s fixed. Still, I dunno if this is the issue. Just me experimenting.

This is exactly the point. If a Windows tablet/ netbook can run with 2GB of RAM without crashing/ stopping when downloading big files, then the 3GB/ 4GB on an efficient OS should not have this problem.

If iOS is killing the download prematurely, then its a bug to me. It should be killing inactive tasks, not active ones.
