Got mine. Midnight green 256gb. Experienced the same thing. First time setup not charging. But Bluetooth was turned on for transferring my data from other iPhone 7.

Maybe need to monitor for few days.

Strange. Yesterday night charged using the official Apple chargers. A while ago was using to surf website then suddenly felt very warm just below the camera lens and the funny thing is while writing this reply the warm feeling gone.

It's June so I will advise to wait unless you need a new phone urgently now.

For me I would sign on xs or xs max now. When iPhone 12 out then I will sign 11 pro or 11 pro max. Save alot of money doing this unless you need the latest and greatest.
