Hello everyone, I'm currently switching over from my Samsung S10+ back into the Apple ecosystem. Is the 12 pro a significant upgrade? Also planning to get an Apple watch to pair with it, still deciding between the SE or the Series 5.
just sharing my experience thus far, with me coming from Pixel 4 XL paired with Gamin Fenix 5 and my wife coming from Samsung S9+ and Samsung Galaxy Watch.
we are now using iPhone 12 pro and regular, paired with Apple Watch SEs.
Other than the generational improvements in the hardware, what amazes me most is the cohesion of the iOS ecosystem. An example is when I updated the Pixel to Android 11. Apps that worked well on Android 10 are suddenly laggy and malfunctioning. Another example is how fitness is tracked on the Apple Watch and the information sync-ed to other 3rd party sites like LumiHealth. It is way more seamless and smooth compared to how Healthy 365 performs on Android.
Also the migration to Apple is made even sweeter if you have close friends and family members in the same Apple ecosystem. Even though its gimmicky, my wife and I love to send silly memoji to each other that is not possible on whatsapp. Sharing is made easier with iCloud, airdrop and if you like google services, google photos is still available.
To my surprise, I like the photos and videos from the iPhone 12 Pro better than Pixel 4 XL that is widely touted as best in mobile photography. Daytime photos are neck-to-neck, however, nightmode photography processing on the 12 is almost immediate while the P4XL takes 3 – 4 seconds of processing.
That said, iOS is not without its cons. MRT gantry scanning via SimplyPay on Apple is still a pain as it requires verification while Samsung Pay and Google Pay is just easier. No PIP mode for Youtube Premium subscribers.
