those who keeps harping about 5G, u're probably set a wrong expectation.

the 12 will default to 4G 99.9999% of the time. with the 5G network in singapore still in its infancy, probably 100% of the time will be in 4G, unless one sets the phone to use 5G only and ur battery will probably drain in 2hrs because of no 5G signal!

ya i think not having signal might cause strain to the phone and might also eat up the battery faster. Remember i read it somewhere

For those on M1:

here can I use 5G?
Please refer to the coverage map under the section M1’s 5G Coverage Areas – m1.com.sg/5Go

List of areas (outdoor only) currently covered are:
Central/Downtown
West: NUS, Dover

Areas (outdoor only) to be covered soon are:
West: Boon Lay, Jurong East, Clementi, Buona Vista
North-West: Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Panjang, Bukit Batok
North: Woodlands, Yishun
North-East: Toa Payoh, Bishan, Ang Mo Kio, Serangoon, Hougang
East: Paya Lebar, Marine Parade, Bedok, Simei, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Changi Airport

So basically 5G is barely even worth a consideration at this point in time. Just force your phone to LTE and save battery.

Yea. This.
Smart data mode means it’s almost always on 4G
Unless you’re downloading stuff or face timing over cellular.

I only do wired backups and restorations. Yes all whatsapp msgs and media will be transferred as of your latest backup.

:s11: can't you just backup to icloud and transfer seamlessly to whatever new iphone :s11:

provided one has enough icloud storage to store all the old phone's data, and it will also take longer to restore from icloud compared to local transfer via wired or wireless.

The 5G need to set than can receive ? The phone not automatic switch to the stronger signal ?

Even if the 5G signal is very strong, i believe it will default to 4G to save battery. it is only when 5G signal is strong AND the speed is required, then the phone will switch to 5G, unless the user sets the default to always 5G.

Tbh those phone battery comparison already begin at an unequal factor.

Unless both 11pm and 12pm comes out fresh from the box and they do a comparison for the battery life. If they’re comparing a fresh 12pm to a used 11pm, the battery health of the used phone is already lower to begin with.

Who knows they’re comparing with a < 90% battery health 11pm and claim that the new 12pm is better. :s13:
