Yes, I reported so many of the calls and sms using scamshield, seem like no effect. Only way is to enable "silent unknown caller" but it will also reject those calls from co-worker(some co-worker I did not add their name and number in my contact until they first call me) until they had to use whatsapp to call me. So far, my best experience in blocking real scam calls + sms is by using Huawei phones which allowed me to block by "+65" prefix.. Hope iOS can come out with the option to block calls + sms using prefix instead manually adding the whole number which is useless cos the scammer can just randomly change their number.

Just got back to iPhone after the last one I had many years ago (3GS).

A couple of quick questions.
  • When will the ”optimized charging” kick in? I’ve had my phone for about a week now, it still hasn’t optimize charge for me. All needed permissions have been turned on (e.g. significant location)
  • Will the default iOS learns from my typing habit? I use glide typing all the time and don’t always reply messages in standard English. When I was on Android using GBoard, it learned my oft-used words and won’t auto-correct me when I glide type. Does iOS keyboard do that, too?
Thanks!

Other than that, iOS has been mostly just okay for me thus far. Maybe need a longer period to get used to it. Notifications can drive me nuts sometimes and I really miss a universal back gesture on Android.

For me it’s rather random, probably because I charge it between 20% to 80% most of the time. Maybe once a week I let it charge to 100%.

1. You need to charge it at a consistent timing. (eg. Every night around 10-11pm place phone on charge). Then it’ll take about 1-2 weeks for optimised charging to kick in.

It’ll take a longer time (or in some instances, not all) for this “feature” to kick in if you charge randomly in the day.

2. Yes, it’ll learn from your typing habit. Type as per normal, when it auto suggests, tap on the ‘X’ button to let the keyboard “learn” the word.

Do you mean, sometimes you see the optimised charging notification, other times you don’t?

If you follow step 1, you should see it consistently unless you charge it at a different timing.

Thanks! I'll monitor it for another week or two to see if it kicks in. I have been charging it at consistent timing (i.e. before bed; overnight).

I am a swipe typer. Infuriating when it keeps auto-correcting it to "duck" when I actually meant the four-letter word 😂

I see. If you ever return to android you may wanna consider nintype. There’s a chance the keyboard may get updated in the near future.

Its probably one of the best two handed swiping keyboard. There’s an iPhone version but you shouldn’t get anymore. The developer kinda went MIA

likely the hardware is already ordered so just reuse if size is e same.
Thinking of getting as compact phones are rare nowadays

but the price is likely to be a turn off, which is why ip12 mini sales bombed as the diff with iP12 is not significant

Heh see the price and specs for iP13 mini

reasons why I never get iP12 mini was the price (small diff from iP12) and poor battery life (compact phones selling point is strong battery life)
