So anyone knows what background app refresh is actually used for? Any harm trying to turn it all off?

Mine is turn off since it was first implemented from dunno which iPhone onwards. My 13 also off it, no issue with notifications at all.

Apps that are in a suspended state aren’t actively in use, open, or taking up system resources. With Background App Refresh, suspended apps can check for updates and new content.

I will use Facebook/Instagram as an example.

Most of the time when you go in, your feed would have been "updated". If you turn the background refresh off, your feed would be the last time you left the app and you might have to swipe down to refresh them yourself.

But I had switch off app refresh all the while, no issues with whatsapp or telegram notifications, Strange,
So, if I am not wrong, it only affect the refresh inside the app and push notifications will not be affected.

now i can give is iphone 13 PM no:1 best choices. alot android user sure jump shift to 13, 13 pro n 13 PM. my 3 frinend saw my 13 PM hold & try on the spot same day my 3 friend go bought 13 PM Lol... my friend say i Poison new toys make 3 of my friend buy 13 PM

I have a different opinion. If you buy from telco, an iPhone 13pro max cost about the same as the Galaxy fold 3 (same storage size).

The 13 pro max battery is really crazy good. Charge my phone to around 95% yesterday around 10am and use it as per normal use and right now at 6:40am I still have 64% battery.

iPhone 12 PM last year also alot of user saying good until one day...........an iOS update.

just reporting my observation. My friend with the 12PM still gets pretty solid battery life despite the iOS update.

Yeah I’m okie with the size of the 13PM but the weight is on another level coming from iPhone 12 regular. Can’t imagine using it with thick case like those otterbox.

Thanks for the clarifications guys, turning off all background refresh off now except for those apps with widgets and tracetogether

I always have the habit to use the phone nakedly despite my wife has been urging me to use a case on this very expensive phone

More like the feel of transitioning to the new design of 4 from 3 but in a bulky with slim bezels factor

I think it’s there more for the camera features. Coming from an 8+, I notice many apps open noticeably faster but otherwise, that seems to be pretty much it.

I occasionally have issue on app store. Keeps having cannot connect to app store error. Only encounter this on IP13PM. Not sure is it due to the new IOS or phone settings. Anyone same?

Wifi or mobile data both same. Need to refresh a few times then ok

trying to direct transfer my data from 12pm to 13pm, am at the apple login screen now but everytime I press 'next' with my password it just loads for awhile and then stay on the same screen, password is definitely correct. anyone encountered this?

both phones are on the same wifi network as well

Settings, mobile data, scroll all the way down, turn OFF wifi assist and monitor. My wifi assist does give me few headaches. Sometime internet was slow and I realized it was switching between wifi and 5G, caused intermittent lost of internet or slow to connect. So, I disabled wifi assist and never encounter any network issues anymore.
