Just called epicentre @ ngee ann city.. they are out of stock on the lightning cable..

Think the bro and sis in apple forum must have went down very quickly to buy it once someone posted here..

Some need 2 or more spare cable for use in
A) home
B) car
C) office
D) not sure where else

Personally prefer to have one cable at home and one at office.. If there is only one cable and forget to bring home or bring to work, then battery may be flat before the next charge..

For hardworking one who always remembers to bring cable with them on the move, then pls do not buy spare cable.. Give other a chance..

unfortunately, even if China produces the chong ones at a fraction of the price, I doubt it they'll work.

When I bought at 12pm+, I saw 10 on display on the shelf beside the cashier.. So they hide it behind cashier after 6pm.. that may mean very limited stock..

Btw, I have called Northpoint DG store before and they told me "out of stock".. but bro in this thread repeatedly reported that there are still stock in Northpoint DG store..

Sometimes.. really need to travel to store to confirm whether there are stock. maybe they do not allow reservation of "hot cakes" (ie lightning cables)

Original Apple 5W power plug is selling @ $28.. Can walk into any challenger shop to buy it..

You can charge through notebook.. but likely to charge faster using Apple 5W power plug..

iirc the charger (wall unit) is also $28 leh ...
so in that sense, i suppose $28 for a cable with authenication chip in it is EX bcos they dun even bloody need to put the chip in one in the first place ... its just a means of denying 3rd party party poopers ... but more vitally (for us) is pay Apple more $$$$ !!!

Those vendor who design, manufacture and sell "dual apple docks" for apple iOS device accessories, speakers, etc.. will make monies.. Imagine One dock is for lighting port and the other dock is for 30 pin port and these 2 docks are side by side..

Look ugly but practical.. Pay one for price of 2..
