iPhone 6 / 6 plus data usage is very high

gosh! nowadays so many hidden or less known settings in apps.

Go to your FB > More -> setting -> video and photo -> Off the Auto play OR Use Wi-fi Only.

did u check if e auto-play is enabled in e fb app video n photos settings?

I have disabled it too but I'm not sure if that is the cause.

really regret buying the iphone, why must so mah fan off everything that use data, previously never had such issue with andriod. mine usage is the same, except different phone, different OS

my fault that i never research properly before buying.

I'm perfectly fine since 4S > 5S > 6 plus with 0 data issue.

u can try reset e cellular counter to zero then monitor from there. or use some third party apps to monitor

Facebook, instagram, twitter and many other apps are data heavy nowadays compared to yesteryears. So naturally will eat up data easily. Last time 1GB also hard to hit, nowadays 3GB also not enuff.


Nowadays I refrain from using 3G/4G unless necessary. Those fb, instagram, twitter can always check when got wifi.

yup it's true. I just did a simple test using dataman's new feature: data stopwatch widget. enable e widget then start using an app it will track e data used live. I jus did a simple browsing of fb with auto play turned on. after about 10mins of browsing e widget showed I used about 15mb. if got more vids in yr stream more data will be used.

say u browse fb about 4 times a day each time around 10mins, in a mth sure > 1gb.

I m not using iPhone but also experiencing high data usage. for last 2 months, my usage was 5GB+ but i seldom watch YouTube n most of the time connect to wifi when in office or at home. 7 days since my data reset on 4th feb n i already used 621MB, that is avg abt 90MB per day.

90MB per day is quite normal but how I got more than 5GB a month, I too am curious. This month I monitoring my usage almost everyday so as to keep track

me neither. my data usage has been almost similar through the years..

i do notice a higher than usual usage when i first started using 4g, but that's because i'm the culprit. not a phone that has a mind of its own and decides to use data when it likes.


with iOS8, i dont know why some people are pondering what's the cause of the high usage... i suppose they don't know that there's a data counter which tells u if the system is causing the high usage or some rogue app..

or maybe i guess they don't know the fundamental of what cellular data is (2g/3g/4g) ..
.. perhaps they think it's something that comes from thin air..
.. or perhaps they think that since they've used this much within 1month, it should be the same for next month.
