iPhone 6 Electric Shocks + Other Problems

Hey ninjarebel, I've got the same issue as you like a month after getting my iPhone 6. Short sharp pains on my fingers, ears or tummy, wherever my phone gets near contact with my skin. the shock occurs randomly when I'm not expecting.

The thing is that, my issue went away in a week or two. And I really don't know if my body got used to it or the problem resolved by itself, so I didn't report it to anyone.

@duameatball well I hope yours have gone away for good. I mainly brought up this issue cause I was also getting fed up with all the connection problems, etc, not just the shocks.

Btw did you have any third party app crashes? That can cause the shocks too, assuming what the CSO said was right

that doesn't make any sense at all... how could apps cause electric shocks? next thing is apps can kill people? The CSO really need some common sense.

Although I've been contented with A.lab's service, they told me a lot of nonsense as well... Like first charge must be 8 hours (are we still using 90's tech?) and cannot restore from iTunes backup or will get corrupted and app crash (then backup for what?). They seriously need some training in their fundamentals.

since the body is made of aluminium alloy, i would expect static to build up if grounding wasn't done properly..

I think what TS is experiencing is a device fault in which the grounding wasn't done properly.. Its nothing serious and power from phone's battery is not enough to kill any human.

However you need to take note if you are charging the phone, because the power from the socket is actually lethal enough if there's any current leakage.

Therefore, i think it has to be replaced......

hahah not only service centres, even Telco's CSOs are telling customers to charge up their phone 8 hours before they start using. They should seriously have a training session for all of them because their information are definitely misleading / not up to date at times.

@rendred89 I was thinking of that too but even if it were something as simple as this which isn't exactly life endangering, they still ought to change it right? If it's grounding issue, would it happen all the time or randomly? While charging only? Cause my shocks all damn random one

Apple thinks it's static shock because I have long hair. I kinda tried ruling out static in the first place cause I have an air humidifier next to my desk plus I have mild sweaty palms so my hands are never totally dry but never wet either (idk how to put this but now I think I know why @interguy wants me to put moisturizer lol). My phone, macbook, and I are inseparable so not sure why my Mac never has any problem?

Anyway I still can send it for complete evaluation if I want 'cause the CSO is just CSO not technician. i.e. app crashes causing shocks? ABSOLUTE BULLSH*T! But then it means I have to go 3 days without a phone plus suffer A.Lab's bloody service all over again.

And just wondering, can I recreate similar conditions to check if my hair is giving off static? The Apple technician says dry hair can cause it but I'm positive my hair was moist - not dripping wet more like drying off from a shower - when the ear speaker shocked me.

what casing or screen protector are you using? The only way to eliminate user issue is to let another user use the phone for a while.

Why are you not considering going to QCD?

@chehjin damn scared QCD give me the same service but likely I'll head down there this week. I tried asking my bro to use the phone, he wouldn't even touch it LOL. Weird thing is, I'm using my 4S too, but the 4S have no issues besides lagging since its 2-3 years old and not using original cable anymore.

At first no casing, then switch to full silicon kind, then switch to plastic kind. Screen protector is the normal clear one.

Finally went to QCD, queued for 3hrs++. They evaluated the phone, after 30 mins I exchanged the phone on the spot due to hardware issues. Not sure why but A.Lab told me evaluation needed 3 working days. Even the QCD CSO was shocked when I told her that.

So glad it was exchanged on the spot!

Anyone having iphone 6 with the front camera misaligned? I've seen many and seems like apple is acknowledging the problem.

And exchange at QCD or ALAB is a refurbished set?
