Hi Everyone,

I got my Iphone6+ less than 2 months ago from SingTel.

However, recently it keeps restarting itself after a blue screen, at least 6-7 times a day.

So I called 1688 and they say it might be firmware issue and advice me to go down to Apple Service centre.

So I went over to Apple service shop at Changi City Point today and they say it is firmware corrupted and advice me to send in the phone for up to 5 days to investigate and fix.

Is that the only way? Can't I be changed for a new set of phone?

Any advice unless you guys/girls say this is the only option available.

Appreciate all advice.

Thank you.

i am using iphone6 and also facing the same problem as you. I was told to update my OS, but problem still exists. Perhaps you can request for an exchange with the store manager?

They do not attend exchange even tough it is not the user issue.

I told them, I do not have any back-up phone or whatever, if you are going to send in my phone for up to 5 days, what am I going to do with no phone. They say this is their policy.

I then called up SingTel saying that they are my service provider, they should do something, they mentioned that this is up to Apple to decide. So I complained again saying I bought the phone from SingTel, so you guys gotta solve this for me, either by replacing it or fix it immediately, they keep apologizing and saying there is nothing they can do.

It seems that this is it...

because the 1 to 1 exchange has been abused by many for other uses and this is no longer telco's taiji. all will go through alab or ocd

Do you have Applecare+? If you have, you can ask for Express Replacement Service which is free. If you don't have Applecare+, you can still ask for it but must pay $38, IIRC.

TS - Try restoring your phone clean and do not put any backup.
Make sure you are on iOS 8.3

Monitor from there. If it still restarts its clearly a hardware issue.

And why do you have to pay??

Thanks for the response.

I am not saying to pay for the repair, but pay for the express repair ( I don't know how they call that or is there such a thing)

When I was at Alab in CCP, the staff mention to send in the phone for up to 5 days, she did not proposed to me that there was an express service until someone told me that here.
Hence I wanted to verify this

Call Apple

I suggest you call Apple directly and explain the situation to them and press them to approve the replacement.

I think Apple might be more accommodating since it is their product plus they are a bigger company and replacing a phone is small cost to them. The service centres here are just service provider for Apple and might not be as service oriented.

But of course you can also try to restore the phone first. I think you might also want to delete some of the apps that you are not using before doing the restore.

Good luck.
