Settings > Cellular

And you'll get to see all the usage there.

In addition to what the others have mentioned, download & enable Onavo Extend: this will shrink your data.

Some apps have high data usage, it is very easy to exceed the data cap (exactly what the telcos are banking on), while Apple continues to come out with 'features' that require internet connectivity. FB and instagram can potentially use a lot of internet bandwidth with all the images and videos (auto play some more.. Faint..).

Monitor and find out more about where those data went from within the Settings, and turn (quite a few) features off - background refresh, auto-download, icloud Drive and etc. Even Continuity and Siri use some internet bandwidth.

Maybe u can give us a screenshot of how your data usage on your apps are like. Alternatively you can call your telco to ask them check why your data usage is so high. I did that before by calling them to check at their backend and call me.

I posted this sometime back. But I was not convince about the settings. It might help but not much. I think it's the size of type of data the 6 plus downloaded. The phone requires Internet everything you tap including settings.

i had the same problem when I first got my Ip6+ too. after that I monitor. Recently I reset the whole phone and see this thread, decided to go in and check mine. had a shock, my billing cycle starts on every 19th of month. So from 19/7 till today (23/7) I had utilised more than 1Gb of data. I don't game, only surf net. Realised big part comes from Appstore n FB. :s13:

It shrinks cellular data big time; very good - I've been using it since my 4s days.

safe a not? i just downloaded it and saw an option requiring me to send all my data to them

Did you download the correct app? It's Onavo Extend & all they require is your e-mail so that they can send you updates etc. Where got send all data to them??

Do check also if you have auto fetch for emails activated and facebook auto video play, these are the silent suckers for battery life.

disable data for apps that you hardly use when on the move.

another strategy i use is to turn on background refresh for those data-disabled apps. they would update when connected to wifi, thus avoiding large downloads if you do ever need to re-enable them to use on a data network.

for example, you might open FB only when you're out of the door, and it downloads all the updates that have occurred since the night before. they can add up. that's for me though, as i hardly open FB, but you can apply the same approach to similar usage scenarios.

after doing that, and using opera browser (great data compression for browsing), my data usage dropped back to normal.
