This time iPhone duo no excuses to skip AppleCare+ , the repair cost from limited warranty charge you Kao Kao.
Even myself die die to purchase after activation phone.
The inner display nobody can guarantee is durable like a tank.
After 2nd generation Duo should be more safe.
Unless the JerryRigEverything tell that iPhone Duo is very durability resistant
not buying just come in discuss AppleCare only lol :D

Tbh, Apple doesn’t come up with a product that can’t make it. They waited for a few years before they release a foldable, it means they have done enough homework to release it with issues maintained at a minimum level.

doesn't change the reality of what an "insurance" is for

Very confidence, right now we unknown the durability. This is first batch / gen product.
Every single parts may get in touch with Apple SC.
buy AppleCare an insurance to cover , if the user caseless must be super braved.
I know quite a lots user caseless and no front screen protection, because this is made by titanium

Sorry to hear that. And thanks for sharing. I would challenge them as it is so un-apple like
Well, Apple is usually pretty chill so I didn't had any issue with this but without having to prove would have been a much better experience.
True that, no documentation needed when i bought for mine. Maybe only if your set is imported set they might ask i guess?
Bought yours in-store recently too? Mine's a local set and before even any diagnostic, was requested for supporting documentation.

Apple started developing duo since 2020..for 6 years of research I have no reason to believe they will screw up the first generation variant by giving consumers a fragile foldable device.. they have been watching and learning from competitors also.. I use my foldable drop 5 times overseas past week also no issue.. don't even have tempered glass SP or case lol..
It's still Apple's first foray, I would be on the safe side and get AC+ since it can be refunded too if one were to sell it off.

Agreed.

I am more worried about whether the cases can protect as well.

Given that apple care + can now extend after expiry, I am thinking of paying that amount for peace of mind for a change. But I will get in store for 10% off

Ya apple care is insurance definitely but not a must. It also depends on a user approach to the phone.

Apple care+ is a plus, not a must. But been apple first foldable phone, i would recommend buying apple care+.

this time round I am contemplating between Apple care + or singtel mobile swop

pretty sure singtel mobile swap could doest not have a cheap option like $19 to replace the inner display
apple care + on the other hand does not cover theft and lost

Odds of loss and theft is much lower then accident damages.

Also apple care is so much more convenient, especially express replacement service. That alone makes me go for AppleCare+ and not other 3rd party insurance
