Have finally decided to offload my Max for the XR. After having both of them for several days, I really couldn’t discern the difference in screen quality between both of them. In fact I feel more comfortable looking at the XR’s LCD as I’ve realised my eyesight is deteriorating with the OLED. Albeit having true deep blacks on the OLED, I’ve noticed that most webpages have white colour background instead, giving the LCD an edge with cooler whites.

Given how similar they both are, just couldn’t justify paying the premium over the XR for the Max. Is there anyone else on the same boat? Cheers!

I assume one of your main usage is web browsing? Does text look different on the XR compared to the Max you had before?

Yes, I think when it comes to the crispness of texts, it all boils down to the app optimisation. Because on safari they look fine to me while on youtube it looks slightly less sharp.

But as a whole, coming from the Max, there is a noticeable downgrade in text sharpness but it’s a compromise that doesn’t bother me too much. Are you contemplating on an XR as well?

I read quite a bit off the web as well as PDFs. Do you happen to know if text on PDFs also look less sharp on the XR?

But honestly though, I'm too dam lazy to switch. Just curious about the XR display.

hahaha. thanks, but it's like half dead anyway, the keypad is dead if i recall. Now it's more like keep for collection only. Used to be my main phone last time.

supposedly only 1mm thicker than xs max.. don't discount the phone due to this ba..

It is thicker, but it's not something I pay attention to when using the phone actually. Even for wallpaper i normally use black background, which blends into the bezels a bit. Plus you put on a case, don't really notice it that much.

To each his own. See the real thing and decide urself. Some dun mind but some do. Unfortunately I belonged to the latter. Went down to get it but found the thick bezel too thick for my liking...
