in the past i used to buy many cases for my phone.
a mix of original apple silicone and leather cases and
carbon fiber, alcantara, silicone, transparent cases from simply carbon fiber, interiorex, spigen, baseus, rock, VRS design.

what a waste of money.

same until I made up my mind to just go with either the Apple leather or silicone case that’s it. Save $.

Just collected my 14 Pro Max Ink leather case and Umber wallet. Ink actually looks like very dark navy blue with slight tinge of purplish to it.

Oh no. This is a bad omen. I've seen how this colour patina into before. It's like diseased with algae green.

I just ordered my Nomad leather case and a throwaway transparent case. Bringing the leather case unopened to return on the 16th collection day at the store itself.

unless Apple has changed how they’re tanning the leather cases for the 14, this is what you can expect from the Umber. The coating has worn off the edges of my 12p case and is absorbing hand oils. Also note how there is zero aging on the back. Looks as new as the day I bought it (this is not a good thing).

Marked difference from the Nomad where I could see patina after a week.

It is not obvious, but it is also not about aesthetics. If I am already paying this much for Apple Leather, why not I pay for the Nomad one, just $10 difference, and get a better quality.

Is damn sad. If I want to get a leather case that doesn’t wear, I can hop on AliExpress and pick up an ESR leather case for 20 bucks. Nonnit spend $90 for this type of quality. I’m willing to bet the ESR won’t develop those nasty edges either.

Andar, Bullstrap, Nomad, plenty of other choices.
