Alternatively, if you're looking for cheaper cases and don't mind the cutout for camera control, the Ringke Rugged case is a very good option at around $20.

Otherwise, Spigen cases are good options now with many also on sale at around $20.

Cases with Camera Control cover would cost twice as much or more.
Hey thanks for the recommendations! I got went to Shopee and various online stores that u all mentioned to see.

I have the same exact questions that I asked galvin above. Would you mind to share some thoughts since u all own the phone for some time riaos? :o

Hey thanks for the recommendations.

Actually I am wondering:

For cases with the camera control cover:
I read past 20 pages in the thread, and also watched two videos by a Taiwanese, there will be scratches on the camera control button if we use a case that covers over the button? Because inner case for that part has some small pointers which will scratch that camera control button?

Does this apply to all cases with cover?
If yes, then I don’t get any cases that covers that button.

Then for cases without the camera control button cover:
Meaning we can feel the button with our finger since that part is open, can it really invite scratches? I only went to Apple Store to touch the phone once so I can’t really gauge or know. :o
You really trust that rubbish taiwan youtuber who is promoting their own taiwan case? :ROFLMAO:

Like i mentioned before, Apple Silicone and Otterbox Lumen and Spigen T models have a soft rubbery feel on the inside of the camera control button. The camera control is made of sapphire glass.

The only case which you described with ‘small pointers which will scratch that camera control button’ is from Supcase. That i can believe might scratch. Their camera control implementation is different from the other brands.

I wouldn't definitively dismiss any possibility of the camera control cover scratching/damaging the button as we're using some material to rub against glass after all and only time will tell if there will be any impact. That said, there has already been an incident where some redditor broke their camera control button despite being protected by an Apple Clear case.

However, having the cover will naturally protect the button better from accidental scratches from day to day use. End of a day, it is a personal choice and dependent on how OCD or particular you are.

For me, I'd prefer the better and more solid cases any day and won't prioritize the button cover in my case choice. To me, those cases with camera control cover right now are not great.

How is the button cover attached on, adhesive glue on the bottom surface of the cover?

How’s the feel of this button? Very hard or a bit springy?

Yes, I really believe it :s13: So they are promoting their own cases? I didn’t know. I guess I didn’t hear that part. :o I kept hearing “jia chong jia chong”, some worm thingy. Then I realized they are referring to the supcase brand :o :s13:

Yesss those small pointy thingy for the supcase cases as shown in your photo!

I think in that case, I just get one open hole one from Spigen:
Spigen iPhone 16 Pro Max Case Ultra Hybrid / Crystal Hybrid , on sale for $23.99 for now, but it is sold out on Shopee though! Sigh. I don’t need the magsafe thingy as people say will drain the battery.

Then I also get another silicone one with bright colors.

Thanks! Gonna check out otterbox lumen nao.

Hey cloudystar, thanks for the reply. I first time buying cases with brand :o :s13: so am very sua ku

Yes I saw that post about the break. Quite unbelievable :/

To be honest, I really hate that camera control button :s13: I directly told the Apple staff this. Also asked them can disable or not? Sometimes will accidentally press it and activate. Then they spent some time finding out how to disable the button, at first say cannot then later found out can disable :s13: But I didn’t know because of that button, it poses problems hunting for cases. Like very extra.

Okay. I think I have a rough idea what I’m getting. Ringke the brand you mentioned, I am eyeing for these two:

Ringke Silicone Magnetic for iPhone 16 Pro Max 16 Pro Lightweight Soft Silicone Protective Cover Case

Ringke Fusion Magnetic Case for iPhone 16 6.1"/16 Plus 6.7"/16 Pro 6.3"/16 Pro Max 6.9" (2024)

I think Ringke is a good option and they’re very affordable. However, most of their cases don’t have very good fit and may be flimsy on the sides (e.g Ringke Onyx).

I’m not sure about the silicone and fusion but the best Ringke case this year is the Ringke Rugged.

That said, if the camera control button is not your thing, you might want to consider the 15 Pro/Pro Max? They come with support for Apple Intelligence too.

I returned the Spigen Tough Armor T after less than 1 day on my 16 Pro 🤣🤣

Despite being at $40 from the 11.11 sale, I don’t really like the look and feel of the case. Firstly, it’s a very squarish and boxy case so kinda hurt your hands when holding it. The power and volume buttons are IMO rubbish, mushy, huge and ugly. The screen lip is very minimal for a supposedly tough case.

The control cover works very well as expected but even that is not enough for me to keep this case. 😌😌

No, I already bought iPhone 16 Pro Max riaos. :o Delivering to me in a few days. (unless I return it :s13: ) The price of 15 PM and 16 PM ish pretty close if I rem correctly so I just get 16. Aiya I try first. If not I just don’t use that stupid button :s13: Like you, I don’t intend to use it I guess. Have a feeling they gonna remove it next year :s13:

Oh… Ringke Rugged. I saw. I feel that the look looks very chor :s13: (That’s why called rugged hor) Good thing is it can likely tahan the drop.

Hahah can return ah even though it was shipped overseas from Korea? You bought from Shopee? Lol. That’s why I try to avoid those armor or rugged series. I think looks too chor. Can withstand drops very likely but might be heavy and a bit rough to touch.

Then how like that you still have other case to use?

My amazon Nomad modern leather magsafe casing hoot came early! Put on my iphone, really very nice and premium feeling. All the buttons feel great. Less than 3 mins, off it goes back to the box and request amazon for a refund.

Reasons, the top left and top right are a bit loose for my liking. It's not as tight as i thought it will be hence it didn't give me the confidence that it will withstand a drop and protect my phone. So, i decided to do a return and refund. A shame... since it's a very nice casing.

Go back to my Spigen hybrid for now.

My top left and top right looks fine. Always thought they would make that part 5% looser so it’s easier to pry open the case (since that side is where the camera cutout is).

Its actually fine but u can remove that area easily which i don't really like. In the event when you drop the phone, the corner casing might come loose.

It was from Lazada Spigen Official store and shipped locally.

Usually depends on the return policy and with the holiday season, return policy is quite generous. If the item is not opened or damaged, they usually can accept it.

Anyway, they sent a case that was obviously opened and used before so sorry I'll return it regardless hahaha.

I currently rotate between the Rebel Air2, Gen6 Frosted, Sheath and Synthesis. :D :D

And the hunt for the next ideal case continues hahaha
