not accurate.

Called them, they say will change back same ipod nano 1st gen. I think they are taking the 6 weeks just to change the battery only. So, it will be the same ipod, only with a new cheap battery.

Hmmm who did you call?

I made 2 separate calls to Apple (800 - number)

First one told me Singapore not under countries affected.

Second one was more professional, he did quite a lot and told me to bring it to the Authorised Service Centres to process the return. Also helped me verify my S/N over the phone and confirming the particulars. He also told me its not battery replacement but unit replacement. Replace with what he wasn't sure

:s22:

rooks riek we will only know when it actually comes back from Apple :o

Just sent mine in to eServ @ Wheelock.

Any idea how long till we get a new one? Those in America are already receiving theirs.

But then again this is Singapore so...

i think we should all be appreciative than whinning....

im getting a free replacement for an ipod that has just been lying around because of the battery life getting shorter but that is to be expected when it has been used for so many years?

Imagine your listening halfway and it exploded/fired in pocket, still feel appreciative then? Its not about getting a 'new' refurb or not. This is a defective product posing potential hazard issue which affected users are penalized. At least i didnt pay for a timebomb in the first place. Maybe u dont think this way bc your not using it.

Very confusing le some say get "new" some say replace battery only with same casing. So is basically getting it replaced (whole thing) or just replace battery with same casing? Or just have to give them and find out 6 weeks later?

Received reply from Sapura that the device was recently dispatched for repair despite the set was handed over to them about 1 month ago.
