i am required to book my RT but there is no option for me to book at ns.sg. I understand that i will need to call my unit and ask them to book for me. 1 qns I have is will I get to choose my FCC and prefered schedule?

Another qns I have is due to the timing of my ICT, my RT will most likely clash with my 2 weeks high key ICT. So what can I do about this?

yes...coz i always book those got p.hols schedules...i always only need to attend 6-7 sessions becoz of it...

yes...you can also do makeup on the days you do not have lessons...

Just 1 eg, you going on tues and thurs. Then next week you cannot go on tues, you can bring forward your lesson to mon or wed the previous week.

But take note, you can only do 2 makeups max. More than that, you will be 'kicked out' of the system. Or so called IPT defaulter.

I have seen some people running in the rain...or they will let you wait...

And to clarify...rain does not = to cat 1...

Haha Yah i knw onli thunderstorm consider Cat 1 right? Thx for the info. btw just for query do you all know if for example one previously took his IPPT but only failed one of the static stations (e.g pull up) and passed his 2.4KM and also hit the min. no. of pts for Pass. If he is to retake his IPPT, does he only need to take that static station he failed previously only? Hope someone can help to clarify thx!!

yes...can re-take that station within 3 months if I'm not wrong...but no rewards if pass...

I got qn on RT.
This in my first time tio RT.
I go ns.sg they say I must complete my RT by 02/11/2009 but they only got RT slot from 03/10/2009 to 25/11/2009.
Anyone encounter this before? Like that how ah?

i have got a question, info 1. my birthday is on 07nov 2. i confirm cannot pass ippt 3. my ipt closing date is 08jul if i go ahead and fail my ippt, and do RT, will i be considered attempted and need not do the ipt again? meaning, if i do RT le, then i'm safe from charges is it ? cos recently i heard from my 1st reservist, they say ippt fail le will tio charged regardless of your RT, only IPT will not kana anything..

As long as you attempt your ippt at least once, you will be safe. If you failed but completed your RT, you will be safe too, no charge.

IPT is for people who wants to escape RT.

it's ok. But I would advise you to call your unit just to tell them that the schedules are fully booked, that's why you must book that schedule. At least you cover your own backside...

yes...but you can only do it twice as you can only do 2 makeups max...

If you can pass the IPPT in the first phase (2 times per week), you will be discharged from RT for the present window.

RT Session

Each RT session is 4 hours in duration with the following activities:

In-processing/Safety Briefing - 15 mins

Physical Training / IPPT Training - 3 to 3 1/2 hrs (include 15 mins of break after each hour of training)

Out-processing - 15 mins


RT IPPT will be conducted at the end of the 4th, 6th and 8th weeks of RT. NSmen who passed their IPPT during RT will be released from the RT program immediately. All IPPT attempts (during RT/IPT/E1 PEP or non-ICT), whether passed or failed, will be recorded as the IPPT requirement for the current IPPT window. NSmen will also be eligible for IPPT Monetary Awards if they achieve the corresponding standards.
