Hello,

I got a few qns regarding Ippt. You mentioned that its possible to extend the ippt window by 1 week?

It was my mistake that I did not notice I had to take 1 day before my birthday. Therefore, my window closed on the 18/9/2012. Is there any way I can squeeze in a slot today on the actual day 19/12/2012?

Thank you.

Who said that?

Anyway, call ns.sg to try your luck.

I spoke to the customer service officer, he said that I had defaulted IPPT and there is no way to salvage the matter, except to wait for letter and attend a summary trial.

I have problems logging in ns.sg to book my ippt, a blank page always load, anyone facing this issue too?

Different scenario. The thread u posted, the ts got 2 days left. For u, your window was closed yesterday.

Even if u get into the page, u won't be able to book it.

Thats true, I wrote an email to NS.sg to explain myself, which I think will be forwarded to my unit disciplinary section. You think it will help?

I doubt so unless your reason is injury which last for 6-9 months therefore not allowing u to train for ippt. But all these must come with medical excuse by doctors/specialists.

Quite obviously have to do full 20 session RT (which gets progressively tougher, those guys closer to 20-session stage have to train lot harder). 8 session is only for those who completed their full IPT, even if don't clear their PPT. I strongly suggest to train hard and do what you can to avoid having to do 20 session RT in future.

You could always try using a different computer to login, cannot login won't be taken as valid excuse, you mean all 365 days whole year cannot login? Whatever your reason, be prepared to go down to NSSC at Depot Rd to explain yourself, bring all supporting documents if any. I hope you are not a repeat offender at IPPT defaulting else can even expect to go DB.

Just want to ask. Seems like I can't find a clear answer anywhere. What BMI is considered overweight and eligible to take part in the weight loss IPT?

I remember PTI saying this weight loss IPT is only one-off for that person's 1st IPT under the enhanced program, next time IPT will be based on PPT. And if you are just slightly overweight, don't get your hopes up. I was over but not selected. Also saw a few others much fatter also not selected while some of those selected looked quite slim (very heavy bones?)!

I strongly suggest to train hard and do what you can to avoid having to do 20 session RT in future. Not to mention if still can't clear RT then got another 20 sessions when your new window starts. Effectively the new enhanced regime has doubled the "punishment" for unfit NSmen.

Firstly, no 1 will know which session you are doing except the admin who in-pro u and yourself. When u go for RT, u just join in the training according to your colour tags. There is no such thing as all the 19th session people in 1 group therefore there is no increase in training intensity as u progress.

Secondly, what do u mean by another 20 sessions when new starts if u can't clear RT? Every year if NSmen opt to do RT, it's still the max of 20 sessions. There is no increment in the number of sessions.

I remember when I did RT at Maju earlier this year, they divided people within my colour tag into different groups eg. 1-5 sessions, 6-10 sessions etc. When you do the mass exercises, the "older" groups are supposed to do more reps per exercise. For running, the "older" groups have to run more rounds. Depending on your number of sessions, there is a single-digit number to be slotted into a small plastic slot on your number tag, this identifies your group ie. Blue tag Group 2. Of course it all still depends on the PTIs, some of them ignore the groupings and make everyone do the same amount.

As for the "another 20 sessions", I have edited my earlier post as it was based on my recollection of the enhanced program guidelines when it first came out a few years ago. At that time I distinctly remember reading of this extra 20 sessions in new window if still failed RT in previous window, it was such a drastic change that can't forget. I just went into NS Portal to check and seems they have removed this extra 20 session requirement, maybe due to negative feedback. Sorry for posting based on outdated info.
