Why dont try the li-ion batt from Roombaxchange?

Huh, can use the li-ion batt kind? tot only APS batt...Called the local office and was told if my set is a local one, the yellow APS batt will be $118. If overseas set, it will be $236! What a huge difference :s11: Heard that the batt can usually last about a year so tot can get a spare batt tog w the set...

The ideal situation is i just leave it running before i went to work, and when im home my house will be cleaned.

Thinking of scooba or roomba. But after seeing the lighthouse technology, seems like it suits my requirement better. Imagine no lighthouse tech, scooba will be running like crazy around my 3 rooms + big main hall. It will be so god damn inefficient! It will then take years to complete cleaning haha.

Strange, they dont incorporate lighthouse function into scooba?

Scooba max can clean up to 850sqft only nia.....and that's at least 2 time change of water tank....:s22:

$236 for an APS battery?!!!!! :s22: Ha, if u give me $236, i'll get u a li-ion battery thats not only cooler, lasts longer, it will also run circles around the std APS battery! :D Might as well quote $500 for one, almost daylight robbery! :s8:

:s27: One end of the side brush of my roomba 4xx series broken! Not 1 set but 2 sets! So now only left one side to brush n pick up dirt.

Anybody know anyway to DIY it. I believe this can be done without buying replacement part from Irobot. Pls help. :)

ktee,
why don't u try buying from local webstores; i think for spare parts it is safe to buy from them. the price is quite reasonable, i just got a carton of scooba juice n a pair of caddie from a webstore here last week.

mosmos,
I now live in Taiwan. As there're plenty of stores selling roomba n its repair (yes, they 'sell' repair services) here, I presumed it would be the same in Sing.If u don't mind paying extra for the shipping service, then, u might want to consider looking up on PC online webstore, Taiwn. The vendor i bought from is as below:

http://store.pchome.com.tw/roomba.

I bought 9 bottles of chlorox from him at around SGD $10.05 each.Irobot US selling at SGD $7.5 each, with the 15 percent discount, it should be SGD$6.37, but shipping liquid can be very expensive, so I though a ten bucks would be reasonable.Of course, they also sell brushes, VW etc etc. There are many vendors on that webstore, would pay off the scout around for the cheapest deal.Cost of shipping between Asia is pretty reasonable.

hey ktee,
just did a search for u, this store
http://store.pchome.com.tw/super/HM/search.htm
selling at NT749 for 3, then this one
http://sh2.yahoo.edyna.com/tw1111/item.asp?item_id=1323350
selling at NT275 for one.

I've never bought from the afore mentioned stores but the one from pchome is among the two i short listed for my accesories, i used the other one mentioned in my previous post because that one has cheaper clorox.

u can email the seller for shipping cost first before deciding if u want to buy from them, many locals here would even bargain on their shipping so u might want to try ,eg get the seller to give u further discount to compensate for the cost of shipment etc....
