only use plain water + sometimes, maybe once a week use kiwi kleen blue.

I use Kiwi Kleen green (apple, anti bacteria) for my 380 since 7/2007. :D

Now my reman 5800 is using chlorox sample. Naturally, it will use KKG when the sample is finished.

ktee, is your 380 operated on a daily basis since 7/2007? Each time with Kiwi Kleen green?

** QUESTION ON SCOOBA SOLUTION **

When the pump of my Scooba 350 failed recently, i'm now wondering if the incorrect cleaning solution killed / contributed to the premature failure of it. Tech support mentioned about 4 factors of concern:

1) Foam 2) Traction 3) Electrical conductivity 4) Safe on Scooba (tyres, filter, pump, etc.)

Items 1) to 3) can be easily verified but what about item 4? No one really knows if an alternate cleaning solution is Scooba safe until its proven over time. I've been running on nothing but MagicClean but my 350's pump failed in slightly over a year. My Qs to the rest who have a Scooba that is operated on a daily or close to a daily basis and have exceeded a lifespan of a year, WHAT SOLUTION ARE U USING? BTW, i've compared the contents of the Clorox solution available at the basement supermarket of Raffles City and found that its different from that of our Scooba Clorox. :(

Most of the time I use water, once in a while some white vinegar and other times kiwi clean in small amounts. So far its still surviving after a year. The battery is dead though. Why don't u do an autopsy on your scooba pump. See what caused it to die.

Good idea... can save some $$$ on floor cleaners as well!!! However, is it clean with only tap water?

:o still clean, able to clean off sticky feel on tiles. Seldom cook in kitchen, so no oily stains on floor.

Was scouting around for a proper floor cleaner that has a neutral pH and i found this @ Homefix : http://www.matt-eva.com/cleanshine/floor.htm . Look at D28, its a pH 7 floor cleaner. Going to try this on Scooba to see how it goes. Apparently, pH level can affect pump and system compoenent life. Some info here: http://www.catpumps.com/pump-article-start-out-right-car-wash.html. A paragraph from the link:

-----------------------------------
Even the selection of soaps and waxes can have a very severe effect on your pump and system component life, if the pH levels become too high or too low. Careful liquid evaluation can avoid premature wear and frequent downtime. Carefully selecting the most compatible pump and correct system components can save you time and money over the life of the system.
------------------------------------

Believe the Scooba Clorox is pH neutral for a purpose. The floor cleaner Clorox on the other hand has a pH between 8 - 11 !!!

I have a Philips Wet/Dry vacuum cleaner. The instruction given says to run the water pump through vinegar solution monthly.

Suggestion to you guys using non Clorox solution on your Scooba, pls run your Scooba with Vinegar once awhile to prevent your water pump from pre-mature damage.

Sigh... if i had known this and paid more attention to the pH of the solution, my 350 may have lasted longer. :(

Well.. think about it as your experience has benefited your peers over here :) So that we won't make the same mistake. So i guess putting vinegar now and then to the scooba will be good for its health :s8:

yes they do ship batteries
i ask them before
and i ship the battries back few mths ago without having any problem

As i cant ship my roomba back to stoosi, i asked them to ship a replacement set to me. They replied they cldnt unless i ship back first. However, they offer to ship a battery to me. I said ok loh. No fish prawn also can.

However, the shipment is to cgw. I chatted with cgw. Here is the chat:

Nikki: Hello, welcome to comGateway's help desk. How may I assist you?
Ktee: Hi Nikki, I hv a question to ask regarding shipping.
Nikki: Sure,
Ktee: Will cgw ship replacement battery from US to Singapore for my iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaner?
Nikki: Allow us to inform you that batteries are considered prohibited items. :s31:
Ktee: OMG! But it is allowed by other forwarder. It is encased in a casing, not bare cells.
Ktee: Then what shld i do if the item is being shipped to cgw & on its way?
Nikki: We apologise but we are unable to process batteries for international shipping.
Ktee: Ok.Thanks. I am informed. Bye
Nikki: Thank you for your understanding.

Now, we know we can only go one way if we want to ship bat. :(

Sad to hear that.:( Now it is officially blocked by HSN. Boys and girls, say goodbye to order from HSN unless u hv fren in US. This makes mosmos one of the last to be able to order fr hsn.

Order fr Amazon, they are more ex but everything run smooth, so far.

It is recommended by iRobot. :o

"Scooba uses only clean solution (tap water, water and vinegar or deep cleaning, fresh scented Cloroxý Scooba Cleaning Solution) to wash floors"
