iRobot Scooba experience

my sccoba tank that dirty water section, also quite dirty.

normal tap water rinse will not be throughly clean.

Had to use warm water + soap, shake and shake, once in a while to clean out those pieces of brown dirt algae.

Your Scooba was caked with dirt and JA did not resolve yr problem despite being under warranty??? What happened to yr Scooba?

JA did resolve the problem. It was trying to arrange for an appt, getting someone to answer the phone that makes one boil..
Imagine me calling and the guy who repairs the Scooba refuses to answer my call. How did I know? Well, the girl who took my call said he didn't want to talk to me... That screwed me such that I had to raise voice at them only then did they decide to talk with me...

I'm now considering if i should get the Roomba Sage or the new 530. Anyone has any advice? Where is the best place to order from if i want to get it from the states?

The new 530 is supposedly the better bot to get. However, as with all new models, it takes time to iron out some of the initial kinks. If u definitely must get one now, get someone to purchase the 535 from HSN for you. Else IMO, wait for more reviews/feedbacks/bugs ironing b4 getting one.

Better get new models, spares accesseries also easier to buy.

Owned a QQ1 sometime back... cute little robotic cleaner, nice smelling too with provision for adding fragance oil to it Drawback is, it still doesnt clean as well as a Roomba. The vacuum passage is too thin, rendering it unable to pick up much stuff, not helped by lack of counter rotating brushes. But for fine dust/dirt, its ok. Tends to be stuck in tricky situations. It has however pretty decent build quality. Very gentle on delicate furniture/legs/objects.

Have been re-reading this long thread for discussion on alternate cleaning solutions which can be safely used with Scooba. It appears to be scattered all over. So far, recommended brands are KiwiKleen & MagicClean. Since u guys have been using yr Scoobas for a while, any updates on recommended solutions and qty to use with each cycle?

Personally, I dislike dealing with them because of poor customer service, i guess cheap does equal cheap service

I emailed them once requesting some information where they are selling their QQ's but never got a reply.

I finally found them giving a demo in IMM one day, I asked them a few questions, the reply was uninformative and very impolite, like i owed them money or something . After that forget about this company.

Nowadays I clean mainly using vinegar. I find it gives a very clean floor minus the smell I use pure vinegar in bathroom only. For my kitchen I mix vinegar and kiwikleen so it smells nicer hehe..

sounds like not very good.

But the price $299 was really quite affordable.

I've read somewhere that vinegar will ruin marble flooring. So far haven't used magicClean, maybe will try it out next time when I finish my kiwikleen. I find scooba solution still the best, too bad about the price though.

How does vinegar on floor smells like? Will the vinegar smell be gone in a short while?

when i use it in my bathroom the smell is gone by the next day.

irobot at comex? wonder how much cheaper they will go.. still prefer to buy from US though. Wish they can demo the new models. Would love to see them in action

Despite my reservations concerning the Scooba, i couldnt resist not getting one... so here's my Scooba 350 (just arrived!)

... So now, the torturing wait... the 16hr first charge BTW, the Scooba APS battery is certainly very heavy (& i thought the Roomba's APS battery was bad!). Can't wait for my Scooba Lithium battery to arrive, should be able to take some load off the poor Scooba.
