I paid through PayPal and bought PayPal dollars from the Buy and Sell forum here. The seller wanted to sell off US$240 as a lump sum and we agree on S$355 as payment.

For a USS180 Scooba new, you must be patient and bid accordingly. Here's the link for the item I bid for.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140125565218&rd=1&rd=1
no wonder, i though how come exchange rate so good...bro, really appreciate your help on the info...pardon me for the ignorance....

bro, what if the scooba reached and dead? What will you do? You send back? How much huh? Will the seller absorb?

One more question. If i buy from ebay or from usa, if the unit arrives here and it is dead, do we have to send it back to USA for repair? Can we send to local irobot for repair? I check singpost, ship a roomba back to USA will cost me S$200+. Damn....will the irobot absorb the shipping charges?

If buy from US or Ebay like me (fingers crossed) and unit is Dead On Arrival and provided there is warranty, you can arranged to send it back to the US at your own cost. Furthermore, when they sent the unit back to you, they will only send to a US based address, which in our case VPost. So weigh the pros and cons before making a decision.

In my case, there is warranty, the seller have included the HSN invoice together so can send back to iRobot. But I am certainly hoping that nothing is wrong.

wa...like that abit risky. I sent back to irobot USA cost $200+ and later they ship to vpost...i have to pay another $100 to ship back to Sing...woo...that will be $300+!! Too much risk for me...unless there is gurantee it will work when delivered...

I go gkrobots.com, got 3 days trial. I just fill up the form, let me test run the roomba first and decide whether to buy from them....sigh...my wife will have even more time to nag at me with the introduction of roomba.

GKRobots is a good choice if you feel that way. Believe they are quite new, just hoping they will change their warranty from weeks to months. That will be better.

You could have extended warranty but you have to pay for that :p I think they have it in 60 and 90 days

Actually I also worked out that it is cheaper to buy from in ebay. Only worry is the risk that I have to take. I have a fren who bought from ebay at a good price but when the unit arrived, it moved in circles. In the end he went through a lot of trouble and still had to spend like close to $150 to ship it back to get a refund, shipping from US to here not refunded somemore. close to $200 gone for nothing. damn suay.

How? Anyone tried scooba on marble floor?

I am getting my demo set from gkrobots tomorrow. They are in the west, damn far from my place. I stay in east :(. I hope they have delivery service, I don't mind paying a small token.

The guy sounds experience. He told me he is doing this during his free time. He said he has been selling for 6 months but just brought up the website few weeks ago because he found many returning customers.

Let me stress test the demo set first...haha..

Hi I just bought a roomba discovery from gkrobots last night. They are very friendly and will explain everything to you and test your new roomba when you come and collect. They also modify the charger so that you can use it without a step-up transformer. Best of all you can book a roomba for a home trial. but for me I cant wait and made up my mind to buy it. So far I havent got to use the roomba cause they told me have to charge first time for 16hrs.. so have to be patient.

I guess the only downside is that, warranty is only for 14 days since they do purchase it from US. but if you purchase it from US yourself, you have to send it all the way back to US for the warranty.. I think that is more troublesome. I hope to be able to buy the scooba next time, and I would definately get it from them. You probably could ask them if they might be importing some clorox solution. Last night he told me its very expensive to import because one bottle is quite heavy.

bro, you bought it already? How is it? update us if it is ok. I am getting demo set tomorrow. Wa...got to travel all the way there...abit troublesome...but no choice, cos demo set free mah. Can stress test 3 days..

on their website, it shows on bottle of clorox is $25!!! wa!...can buy few bottles of local brand....what the hell is this clorox? So special???

Hi p3c_sgd,

I have used the roomba dicovery already. You will be amazed at how much dust actually is on your floor. It picks up hair very very well and is quite easy to clean up. The battery lasts easily for over an hour, I haven't tried running it till its flat, but I heard it can last up to 2 hours in some cases. One thing I like is how it tries to find the home base. I like to watch it slowly dock into the home base for charging :s13:

Actually the clorox is specially formulated so that it doesn't foam too much and clog up your scooba with foam. The solution is also not suppose to be too slippery if not your scooba is going to slip when moving. I have read elsewhere that people have used local washing liquid though.

I don't think you will regret travelling all the way to the west to get the demo roomba hehe..

bro, thanks. I collected the demo set in the afternoon. Wa, his place not easy to find leh. I picked up a green roomba, looks like a tank. :) I tested it, it just finished cleaning my living room and bedrooms..woo...I time it, it is about 1hr 35mins before the batt flat. It can pick up alot of hair and dust..amazing...let me stress test it tomorrow haha :) I like to see the way the roomba goes back to the base for charging...v funny...haha

eh currently they do not have any stocks. I saw a brand new grey roomba and scooba but he said all sold. Have to wait until next week or week after next. Looks like alot of ppl are buying roombas...I also saw a white roomba, he said customer returned it within 2 days because it has some issues. They gave full refund if something is wrong within 14 days...no question asks. I am quite worry if the roomba breakdown...v troublesome liow...

Reg scooba clorox, I order two bottles from them. $25 per bottle...damn ex! no choice lah...local no one selling...and if I learn from ronnie, import from usa...i think the shipping cost will kill me. It is almost 1kg a bottle...no joke.

Actually there's an alternative to Clorox which is available locally at all supermarkets. The brand is KiwiKleen and do not pour more than 3 teaspoons into the Scooba. Why buy Clorox when you have a substitute available locally.

Have you use it on your scooba? How is it? I read irobot manual, not allowed other solutions. If it breaks down due to user's neg, they will not repair it. I don't want to risk my $1200 unless we are very sure kiwi kleen can work. how huh?

Of course it's tested. I used to sell Scoobas and Roombas to my customers previously. I have been recommending them to use KiwiKleen since day 1 they bought their Scoobas. Use the amount indicated and you are fine. Only KiwiKleen works, the rest is a no no due to their different chemical composition.

wow...do you sell roomba? I want to compare price. Any warranty? do you service roomba or scooba? If I use kiwi kleen and it breaks down, will you be able to repair for me? Just in case the local s*** does not want to do it.

These days I'm so tied up with my current job that I have stopped promoting the roomba and scooba. All the roomba and scooba that I brought in were US retail units. Warranty service is valid within the US. Previously I offer my customers 14 days personal warranty if they have an issue with their robots during this period. I believe the local distributor will service your scooba no matter what happens. You would have cleaned your scooba before you send in for servicing and they will not be able to find any traces of the alternative solution.

Wa...how to clean the interior? I read the manual, there is a pump in it. it will screw up the pump if other than clorox is used. i think i still stick to clorox...anyway the 32oz can last for few months. Unless we are very sure there is no side effect in long run.

Thats probably my roomba, after further testing, found it to spin around infinitely when it hits a virtual wall or goes to home base, like its stuck. They said might be a sensor problem, but instead of repair it, they told me they refund instead. Seriously, I have to mention their service standards are really way above normal. They respond very fast to sms or email.

$25/bottle? Thats the price of maintenance of your floor hehe.. Just wondering if it cleans well with just plain water.

I have to wait till they have stock again. Definately will get one. Kinda miss having that little thing roaming around the house hehe.

You could buy accesories to add on the sage to "upgrade it. You could do this:
Sage + Home base = Discovery
Sage + Home base + scheduler upgrade = Scheduler
Discovery + scheduler upgrade = Scheduler

Something like that :s8: Thats what they explained to me. So I guess its up to you what you want to do. I think the diference between the discovery and the sage is that the discovery has a four buttons. sage only has 3 i think.

I'm actually considering to get a scooba. How is your scooba doing? does it clean well?
