Remember your last trip to Korea, i was hoping that u get to see the Navibot there. In any case, it appears that the Navibot may not necessarily perform a better job than the roomba (according to feedbacks and the recent cnet video review). Roomba's vacuum + brush system is pretty effective in picking up dust and debris. If only it has a more intelligent mapping system ...

Actually if you notice that not all debris is pick up in a single pass with roomba. The wonderful part is it will cover the same area 4-5 times with it's random coverage and thus cover the entire area pretty well. With the samsung mapping system, it covers the area in a shorter time with a systematic way but will it picks up everything in a single pass? Furthermore like what you say, reviews has shown that the mapping system does miss out certain area too.

Actually I am a little eager to get it and see whether it lives up to it's name :s22:

John Ackerman is the only distributor in Singapore. If you wanted to pay for warranty then buy from them. This robots are very reliable and you can safely buy without warranty for a lesser price. However sometimes it does comes with defects out of the box but very small probability. I sold close to hundred so far and only a scooba and roomba is returned so far.

You can contact me at 81254242 if you need more info.

buying from ebay

If you are getting from ebay.sg look for robovac.
I got mine from him, he delivers to my house and even teach me how to set it up and charge it.
100% reliable seller. With purchase from him, you also got support, you can buy from him additional brushes, .....etc.

Hope to hear your Navibot feedback soon!

Comparing Roomba, "able to cover the same area 4-5 times".
Navibot's various cleaning modes Auto, Max, Manual, Spot and Edge.
I supposed the "Max" and "Spot" cleaning should address this concern?

if max is same as irobot, it just means clean until out of battery.

spot is clean the small area in a particular spot.

so if the map is no good, it will never clean the blind spot lo.

u mean reliable in wat sense? will they send to you or after sales service?
sending the irobot out of america will void it's warranty anyway.

how is the roomba530 priced at 229usd from online?

depends on yr needs. if you got 4 rooms and above, maybe you should go for 560 instead.

i got myself a refurbished unit instead with the same price you gave. much better buy though the battery was dead when it arrived.

no complains though coz the brand new 560 is like over USD300. so give and take a bit la. afterall, the price is still way cheaper than sg local price.

total i spent about SGD490 on a refurbished roomba 560. paid extra for a battery replacement, changed the power charger and shipping.

definitely one great buy. my wife was quite skeptical about the roomba. but after seeing how clean and dustfree the rooms are, she has changed her mind. even support me to to buy a scooba. haha...

Neato will be the nextgen robot cleaner. The use a stronger suction power to clean, purportedly 5x stronger! Priced slightly higher at US$399 so we shall see which robo is best. http://www.robotreviews.com/news/neato-xv-11-robotic-floorcleaner-begin-shipping-week

Neato looks ugly. The straight corner is suppose to be able to reach corner better but is the brush and vacuum at that corner? If you see those video clips at the show, it always turns when approaching corners and by doing that, it misses more at the corners than Roomba side brush can capture.

how is the roomba530 priced at 229usd from online?

Roomba530 does not have scheduler, while Roomba560 and above do have. The price is ok, but I will prefer to pay a little bit more for a scheduler. Sometimes, I really hope the scheduler can be programmed to make 2 cleans (instead of 1) per day!

Just my 2 cents worth opinion.

scooba is ok

i like scooba

but one of my scooba go crazy even b4 6mths of usage.

havent get a roomba yet but being the paranoid person, i dont think i dare to make a 110V item go charge itself by using a step up step down transformer when no one is at home.

wow MSI seem interesting. using ultrasound. Does Roomba use ultrasound? I know scooba dont. Itwill go n bump the area tsktsk

If you want to pay much more just for warranty then get from them. If not you can get from me. Many forumers here get from me. ;)
