can confirm that the step down transfomer simply steps down the voltage from 220->110? I'm thinking of ordering a 5xx roomba from USA thru a friend, any new voltages or transformer size I need to consider or will the Newstar 100W / Super 120W work as well?

@thewiseone do u leave yr transformer/charger on 24h?
Both Newstar 100W & Super 120W will work. :)

My Red's APS fast charger is over a year old, 24/7 operation. My step down transformer is 1.5 yrs old, 24/7 operation & now serving both my Red and my Scooba (24/7). These step down transformers are pretty hardy.. so no worries about frying them as long as they are not used in confined high heat areas.

take the plunge tho heard there are some bugs and issues, but can't resist going with the newer model despite lack of warranty. Keeping fingers crossed. I will provide a short review once I get a chance.

Just received 2 shipment notices from VPostUS that my 2 iRobots have arrived and asked me for payment but when I visited the website, there were no bills for me to pay...

Talk about confusing...sigh

Arrived and processed for payment are 2 different things! They will take another 2 days to process, after which u can make payment and wait another 5 - 8 days (if i recalled correctly) from payment to receive yr item. :s22:

It would appear so...

However, there was a "button" in the email to PAY on the shipment notice...

Anyway, according to USPS website, the shipment actually reached VPOSTUS on 29 Sep (Sat morning their time) but I think VPOSTUS only operates Mon-Fri and the shipment was finally delivered on 1 Oct :s22:

maybe you can unscrew the front or back wheels to check if any strings or threads stuck inside.

:s22: I nearly want to get one bec of the scheduler remote.

But $10 more can get brand new discovery already, think over $139.99 for remanufactured not so worth.

Hope later can get a new scooba below $200. :s22:

To ship a roomba which weight about 6kg will cost ~$70. If the box is huge, it might cost more... mine cost ~90. However, u can use the discount coupon if paid by UOB cc, which will get u off 12%.

Mosmos, i didnt buy as i hv extra battery, a scheduler n dont need 2 roomba for my snail-cave. :D
