btw, some say that letting the roomba onto thick carpets would speed up the breakage of side brush, so be careful ah.One of my roomba 570 got its rubber blade on the beater bar broken on its second mission; culprit is---my son's jigsaw puzzle.

mosmos,
I now live in Taiwan. As there're plenty of stores selling roomba n its repair (yes, they 'sell' repair services) here, I presumed it would be the same in Sing.If u don't mind paying extra for the shipping service, then, u might want to consider looking up on PC online webstore, Taiwn. The vendor i bought from is as below:

http://store.pchome.com.tw/roomba.

I bought 9 bottles of chlorox from him at around SGD $10.05 each.Irobot US selling at SGD $7.5 each, with the 15 percent discount, it should be SGD$6.37, but shipping liquid can be very expensive, so I though a ten bucks would be reasonable.Of course, they also sell brushes, VW etc etc. There are many vendors on that webstore, would pay off the scout around for the cheapest deal.Cost of shipping between Asia is pretty reasonable.
hi does this pc home ship to singapore?

My hse doesnt hv carpet, only tiles. Fr the photo it looks like the brush came off, not the rubber part broken. Guess i can still stitch the brush back but I cldnt find the broken brush! :s22:

the breaking of side brushes is a known 'design defect', esp in the 5 series.Irobot will replace it for free if product still under warranty, but that's equivalent to no warranty cos the cost of shipping is so steep.

burnt charger

Since is burn maybe you can try to modify it to a 240V input adapter. Replace the C1 to 400V one. The D1 D2 D3 may need to change also since it is burn. Any other component that is burn just replace accordingly. If success you will get a 240V input adapter.
Actually I experience even a newstar step down transformer burn my 110V electric appliances. Is true that for long run a step down treansformer is not recommended as you never know when the convertor go haywire.
I run my Roomba on the 240-110 Convertor, I realise that converting 240-110 lose a lot of energy. Meaning 100% input only 50% output.
For those who have basic knowledge on electronic try replace the C1 to 400V one. save energy and lesser risk actually.

Hi,

I burnt my charger when I turned on the switch. will the above also work for me ? I'm using a Roomba 560.

Thanks

Ya you can try changing C1 to 47uf 400V capacitor. Take note of the poraity. Make sure is not on opposite side. And remove the VR1 see it works or not. If you are lucky you only burn the VR1 else you have to replace all the Diode which is very less likely. otherwise the circuit got burned.

Wah wasted! Saw this too late .. now sold out already :(

Those want to get 5xx series, buy.com got offer + free shipping.

510 is cheaper now than woot.com selling at $199.99 in dec 2007.

560 is slightly cheaper now than 20% discount offer at irobot store.

use google checkout further $10 off and that's only option we have to use to purchase from buy.com

:s22: better don't risk with vpost, later whole parcel can't ship back. Or you can don't use the magic word to vpost.

5800 can also use tap water only. :o

btw irobot store, 5800 already not on sale for quite a long time. Maybe they are phasing out already? Maybe phase-out stocks going to appear at woot.com soon?
