Whats wrong with your 5800?

I bought the battery almost 4 months back (sitting in US for some unforseen circumstances). Got it for around US$70+ inclusive of shipping within CONUS. Hope u have better luck with yr battery. How old was it?

I chked w vic & he quoted usd90/pc + usd8 ship to conus. He doesnt ship outside conus. :( Yours is cheaper. I hv pmed glo69 & hope he's able to ship to sg.

A remanufactured roomba cost usd100, the batt alone cost usd90! My wife starts to complaint tat this might not be wise for a toy. But she feels scooba is more worth it as it cleans better. Roomba cleaning cant compared to a normal vac except for automation.

I know vpost wont ship batt, does any1 know if cgw or bdx ship batt to sg? thks. :o

Dont worry, glo69 does ship to SGP...once he balanced and completed the batt...shipping quite fast too...

Actually I feel that Roomba and Scooba serve different functions...Roomba is useful for daily automated cleaning of our hse...dont think your wife wants to use a normal vac ard the house daily too...then can do some occasional heavy duty cleaning...that one I will whip up my super heavy (costly), designed in NASA Kirby which I bought ~10yrs back...till now still dont understand why I bought this but it is super powerful though...

The difference in price could be due to the battery case. I bought mine from Vic without the case. I have some old batteries and i simply reuse the casing. Some extra work is required as i had to de-solder the older clips and solder them onto the new Li-Ion battery. In any case, u have to get from either glo69 or Roombaexchange if u want the battery to be shipped directly to Singapore.

U are asking very broad Qs. Which bot are u referring to, Roomba or Scooba? All your Qs have been answered, please use the Search Thread function for your Qs.

Sorry because the thread is so long.
Can someone summarize:
- Which model is the most popular or recommended one?
- The price to get it online (where & how) and how much it sell it locally.
- How long will it deliver after place the order.

Thanks a lot first because heard a lot of friends' friends mention of how good is this robot, so want to find out more which to get and how.

These 2 bots are by iRobot. The Roomba is a vacuum + sweeper while the Scooba is a floor washer. U can go to www.irobot.com to have a better understanding what these 2 bots are capable of. U can purchase them from online stores like hsn.com, amazon.com, etc. Why do u want to get one simply based on the most popular. I suggest u take the effort to read through the postings and visit irobot.com site for a better understanding. U can also drop by www.roombareview.com for more info.

To 'thewiseone',

how is the Scooba 340? I want to get one too, any avenues on getting it from HSN? Buying from US a bit of a hassle.

Seems to be sold at a premium in Singapore. Only selling in the States for US$2.50! Smells like the Clorox that came with Scooba, though the colour is darker. Will probably try it out later... rather expensive though... its only 946ml.

Anyone else tried this out yet?
Will probably pick up a few to bring back to KL this weekend :s22:

I strongly suggest anyone going for a Scooba to get the 340 instead. IMO, this is the best value-4-money. There are a no. of improvements made to this model (as mentioned in my earlier thread & at Roombareview). It also saves water and detergent required as compared to my older 350. The downside is that the 340 is more like a custom model for HSN. It has the engine of a 380 minus the high price tag. U could perhaps find one on the Ebay. As for getting one directly from HSN, perhaps some forum members who managed to do so would like to jump in here?
