it means the ebay seller will be sending the battery direct to the buyer. you ship via vpost then maybe cannot.

hi i am interested but i heard so many horror stories about ebay sellers and stuff especially batteries. are those truly originals or remakes, what if inside those they are sending are actually refurbished or overstated ones like by 50 or even 100%..wont that also risk spoiling the charging circuitry inside the robot? and if theres no shipping services to check or track, what if the seller didnt respond or delay or ship something thats not whats paid for, or what if the seller shipment is detained..are this sort of problems covered at all? do we have to fork out that much first or can we pay upon delivery? sorry my head aches when i think of all this :(

thanks but still so does that means they are selling originals or remakes? is there any way we can find out the inside of they provide is whole new or refurbished? what if what they send cause new problems instead of solving old problems? as i asked is there any sort of cover or assurance for these sort of risks we are taking and somemore by paying out hundreds in advance

i read about the cases where more than one person had sent money to pay for an iphone (is it ebay also?) but end up lost the whole sum instead of getting any discounted set and theres the whole hassle of having to report this and chase that. i just dont want to drop into that nightmare for something as simple as a battery. i rather something that works well and works accordingly

oh and why i cannot find any 4000mah or above battery on their website? are these authorised or approved, would they overload the charging and/or cause short circuit or blow out the power later on? where do they get those parts from?

the shipping also, i thought i read somewhere theres a problem with battery coming from overseas, will they charge extra if something happens, or what happens if the battery is stuck somewhere will we be refunded or its entirely our loss? what if the seller claims its not their problem? what happen to that battery we paid for then?

Pay using paypal. You get buyer protection. My friend get a product from ebay that is a different brand and he file a case with paypal. 100% refund and now he don't know what to do with the item. It's like free purchase.

I got 2 scooba batteries from ebay too and they arrived safely without problem. I would say ebay is pretty safe in US, see the number of transactions each seller have, some got more than 30,000.

thanks what you saying is something like leaving the thing to chance. statistics is still statistics. i dont wan to spend all my time and energy to go thru those hassles you just mentioned. its just a spare battery and its supposed to help cut down my work not increase it. and i dont want to sabo the seller for a free battery, neither i want the thing to sabo my equipment even if its free. how do you know the inside are refurbished or new? can the robots take the extra load, i always hear something wrong with the power or burn or something? for me i always ask myself why would they sell something more for the same price (is it the same? i think its more exp right? considering its no brand?)

thanks that means they are not originals correct to say? how they make those parts and keep their prices affordable at the same time? its natural to think something gotta give? the rebuild is it 3months warranty? whats the price like? how long they might take to do and what if the thing mess up the robot do they cover any idea?i mean its not unreasonable to ask these questions right?

would be better for u to direct those questions to the seller themself.

thanks so much already. from the gist of the replies, can more less tell its always a gamble with these ebay and non originals remakes, all the way from paying, shipping to waiting, receiving and then using. imo now it seems to me the price is not really that fantastic for the so many risks the buyer has to undertake from day one. i think if next time i need i would likely prefer to stick with originals until someone can come up with a more reasonable more convenient solution other than paying hundreds upfront for the unknown. sorry but that could be just me :(

for me,
i wont spend US$70(exclude shipping to singapore) for the 3000mah batt from irobot.com. and irobot dun do direct shiping to singapore. and forwarder like vpost, etc dun allow battery.

from ebay, its only US$36 for a 4200mah or izzit 4500mah. with another i tink US$12 to ship to singapore direct.

anyway heres mine..

Roomba is a dry vacuum and Scooba does mopping but has a vacuum port as well. However the vacuum is not as effective as Roomba. Roomba requires lesser attention while Scooba needs attention every run of 45-55 mins.

Local ebay has some on sale if you wanna save the hassle on your own shipping.

What risk is there? Those sellers are honest and even indicate that it is replacement batteries for irobot and not the original.

They would not want to jeopardise their online business which can be full time for some. They would not want you to open a case and froze their paypal account.

Search and read carefully and you will find most of them indicate it's originality. There are few authorised sellers like casino189 & homevacuum whom sell original parts from iRobot. Lookout for original OEM if you want authenic and willing to pay MORE for the items, otherwise you can go for generic replacement.

IMO, most sellers in the states honour what they say and most of the time you get your item delivered. Furthermore, paypal protects the buyer's interest too. The risk is minimal bro.

The first question and the last statement made doesn't cohere and that already implies there is still some sort of risks involved. despite the assurance on the surface, there are still stories of scammers and shipment cockups amidst all the ebay wheeling and dealing, this is a fact. if not, we wouldnt have heard of buyers having made payments in goodwill but no or lousy shipment received or them taking forever to come. instead of convincing me they are more credible, the sellers are signaling to me anyone of them can be an even bigger question marks lurking behind a name. so what they are big names, they are just names. i mean how does anyone sell something thats more than the usual authorized capacity but at the same or lower price? that dont make sense. and yes they just only claim its not original and its diy remake, so its buyer beware. who knows what happens next? would they bother if my equipment is damaged or burnt? as i said, if i have to pay up to hundreds of US dollars to take on that and other risks, i rather look for more reasonable alternatives. Originals would be the best but i am not saying i wont consider others. i said more reasonable alternatives. personally i still find cash deal upon delivery is still the best and safest option, takes the 'if' out of buying a convenience (not paying for an inconvenience!). by that I mean paying hundreds for a robot and tracking it to finally arrive is already exhausting, then still have to save pennies by running detours to 'freehold markets' for unauthorized remakes? let me think about that again.
