Changing bumper switch

My old workhorse Roomba discovery recently giving some issues, concluded that its the front right bumper switch that is the cause...it will hit that area and stall...anyway to change the switch?

Hi Mosmos, how long does your battery generally last?

:s22: not very sure, did not monitor now, but roomba manage to complete whole cycle with power left, scooba also manage to empty the tank~

I mean the lifespan. Because transformer on/off due to overheat protection kills battery as it charges, stop, charges, stop. It's no good for battery.

:o I only charge the battery for 3.5hr using timer~

Current scooba using the li-ion battery, use for quite long already, maybe 1yr+ still can use~

Roomba battery still working fine, after 1 cycle put back to charge already, should be near to 1yr liftspan~ :o

I've not been following the current Scooba model nos. So this one is the slower one as compared to the 340/380 or is it the same speed with a lower capacity battery? The specs says 1 full tank washes up to 250 sq ft only... slower model??

from my observation, it's able to wash up to 2 full tanks. i bought the scooba about 1 month ago. same model.

think like uno_bliss says, it has an updated battery pack.

Thanks! Wash up to 2 tanks only indicates that it has the larger capacity battery. What about the speed? The Scooba with 850sqft coverage is noticeably faster.

380 does move faster than the 330. It has a different part number for it's motor.

have no idea how fast 380 moves.

question, since you're going to just leave it to run by itself while you're doing other stuff, does the speed matter? i guess it probably will to me if i do some scooba race or i'd stick around to look at what it's doing.

otherwise, a clean floor matters irregardless of the speed.

i'd go for the mop if i'm looking for speed. haha... confirm will be the fastest.

I have this strange problem with the scooba I recently bought.. when I press clean, the error 'I'm stuck' will pop up and I have to switch it off and try again.. only after pushing or nudging it will it start properly..

anyone else having the same issue?

It makes a big difference. It affects the area that Scooba can cover. For the older one, u need to run almost 2 cycles to cover the same area done by the faster Scooba => less stress on the battery as well as less time required. I used to own a 350, its much slower than my 340s.

Thanks for the info! In that case, the previous 340/335 from HSN was the better buy as compared to the current 330.

The strange thing is my comparison is between a 340 & 380 which is suppose to have the same spec but the 380 moves faster. I did not compare with a 330 but I guess since it already outrun the 340, it should be faster than a 330.

Less than 3hrs, but I set the timer to 3.5hr auto-cutoff power supply~ :o
