5 cycles?!! Isnt the filter badly clogged by then?

We haven't empty neato's bin yet after 5 cycles...

Noticed neato do not run into my feet when I am standing in front of it. Maybe neato can scan certain height and turn away. But for short height like shoes and mats, it will run over them.

It knocks into door though. Neato is kind of loud...scare my child...:s13:

Wiseone's comment inspired me to brainstorm & came up with this:
Roomba500selfcleanfilter.jpg

This mod requires no wiring or additional power source, just tapping on Roomba's kinetic energy, much like Seiko's Kinetic watch.

Just thought of version 2 for self-cleaning filter. Circular motion is always easier to build & should give more consistent results than back & forth. Utilises Roomba's constant directional changes.

Not so far as I only use once to clean half of living room only. I am thinking of skipping the boundary strips since not long to cover all the restricted area for cleaning. Just place a foot infront of robot when it is near the area you don't want to clean instead. It moves away.

Interesting idea but i doubt the relatively fragile filter will be able to withstand the constant sweeping action of the cleaning brush.

Shipping via forwarder is still cheaper... if u buy direct and get Neato to ship, it'll be the same price BEFORE GST!

Perhaps the most economical means to get this one is when someone travels to US, get the person to hand carry it back (though u may have to check in this one).

Wow...think twice now to ship this...:(

U shouldnt/cannot de-value yr item becos:

1) Shipper might not agree to it
2) In the event of item lost, u are only covered by the lower value u declared.

GST is charged when your item plus shipping exceeds SGD400. if somehow you can devalue your item, you won't be charged.

i'm sure the 2nd line would be more of a concern than the first. sometimes, u just got to do it cause you exceed by a little, or you want to get more accessories in. :)

Wooh, hand carry Neato will definitely exceed cabin baggage allowance. Need to check in I suppose?
