Yeah, then u probably need to pipe in fresh water to the dock and another pipe to discharge waste water from the robot. The whole system will be totally automated, u probably only need to clean the filter once in a while.

DREAM ON... :s13:

Actually it can be a small tank can infill water up to 1 months,
And the pipe can share with washing machine.

So the Scooba return back to home base and charging at the sane time can be outlet the water, suck from the tank. And inlet will be small pipe.
The design is same like Scooba 230.
Fully sealed built in tank.
So you imaging F1 can be team work and it will be the same.

Just wait loh.

That is assuming that your dock is located next to washing machine. Not every house layout is the same... there are often instances where the back yard is a step lower than the rest of the house. Unless yr potential bot can 'climb' steps...i dont see how it can be done. In addition, do u know how big a tank has to be to accommodate 1 week's of cleaning supply??? Dont even think about 1 month! :s22:
Yes, technological advancement can bring about ideas which were previously thought impossible.... but u still cant defy physics.

Deebot D76 with self emptying dustbin!
file.php

More info here: http://www.ecovacs.com/deebot_D76.htm
Wiseone, the bots u've posted have design quite similar to my 1st robot V-bot RV-10: http://www.v-bot.com.hk/english/

Similarities are:
- a central high power vacuum motor
- a central removable bin with a filter lid
- battery runtime ~60 mins due to high power consumption

Now... check this out! I stumbled across while searching Roomba 7XX.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPP3iRScv10

An unbelievable Roomba 5XX knock off. Let's play a game... Spot the similarities & the differences.

Haha Uno, I know the manufacturer of that robot. I almost get this in when I see how similar their design and parts are compared to roomba. You should see the one with silver faceplate. Really looks like a 560.

RV-10, Cleanmate and other china bots... owned all of these before. :s22: As a relatively affordable robotic vacuum cleaner, its quite hard to beat Roomba (400/500 series). That said, there's really not much innovation from iRobot since the 400 series. They are still based on a similar cleaning pattern, with the latest 700 series priced almost at an absurd level. :s8:

Please check out the Roomba 700 Series.
Now in officially announce.

http://store.irobot.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2642055&camp=robotreviews.com
Thanks for the link, I couldn't find it on iRobot website but somehow u managed to locate it.

So here goes my guesswork again:
- Roomba 760 is like Roomba 560 (Auto Virtual Wall)
- Roomba 770 is also like Roomba 560 (Auto Virtual Wall), but got Dirt Detect persistent pass & full bin indicator.
I got 2 Roomba 400 series with Bin indicator, uses 3V button battery to power an infrared sensor, the button battery can only be changed by dismantling the bin, what a "brilliant" design
- Roomba 780 is like Roomba 570 (Lighthouse), the touchpad panel is a big concern to me, cos I ever bought a computerised charger (I've got 3) with touchpad & it was faulty, had to press hard until screen like wanna break, brought it back to shop for exchange

All 700 series got scheduling.
All 700 series got HEPA Aerovac, that's a nice improvement.
I've also seen the CES intro that brush bearing has all round plastic shield, an unbelievably simple mod but iRobot never do for 5XX, sigh...
I ever contemplated on modding my brush/CHM to have a small blade (eg. a segment from hobby knife) to cut hair, but lazy to experiment plus dangerous to implement.

The persistent pass Dirt Detect seems promising, cos it uses Optical rather than Acoustic sensor, so fluffy dirt, eg. extra pet fur, can be detected.
The rear cliff sensor also ensures safety during reverse motion.

Guess what... I zoomed in on 700 series Aerovac bin, and it frickin' reminds me of my normal bin mod: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=54152408&postcount=7762
My modded bin is still with the customer I lent to, think he love it til keep quiet... :s8:

Wow Wiseone, u oso victim of RV-10 like me & of Cleanmate like Jubooo.

RV-10 & Cleanmate are very slow compared to Roomba. When I first transited from RV-10 to Roomba 400, Roomba was so fast it was dizzying.

That Fun Beat VacuSmart in my earlier post also looks slow, the intro video play cheat by speeding up. It may look like a 560, but no way they can copy iRobot algorithm cos all encrypted, unless got people smuggle out like the iPhone 4 prototype in China.

U're still treating Lighthouse as a die die must have...

I got many customers with Lighthouse 560 and they don't even use it cos it's complicated to set up. I wrote about it here: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=52888342&postcount=7626

I ever went down to young lady customer's place 3 times to help her set up Dock & Lighthouses position, cos they were interfering with one another, and Roomba either don't cross LH or gets trapped in "zone of confusion".

Sometimes the house layout is simply difficult to implement Lighthouse effectively, eg. if a hall & dining area is joined with total area >400 sq ft, putting LH in the middle means u have to set beam distance to max, then Roomba will avoid a huge cone shape area & that area will never get cleaned.
Of course such a problem can be solved if Lighthouse/Virtual Wall beam is like laser.

Definitely I need it so much, cause lighthouse can pike up more dust, hairs, debris.
To compared without lighthouse for my vac bin just little to store in the bin, so far I used lighthouse it has lots of dust in the standard bin, I can said it will be much more to 50% percent for collecting debris.
I also dunno where is come from, my house fully enclose, window didn't open by often.
Almost using fully Aircon. But still a lot dust. Ha ha

Yeah... that was quite some time back... started playing with bots since 05/06... eager to try out the various models. Though RV-10 is a little slow and not quite as intelligent as Roomba, it uses a better design for docking IMO. Roomba's docking can sometimes be a hit and miss and when the drive wheel mechanism weakens with age, it gets worse. Thankfully, no such problems with the Neato. ;)

RV-10 & Cleanmate are rear docking, with charging contact way above ground level.
Fun Beat VacuSmart is front docking like Roomba, also with charging contact way above ground level.
Having protruding charging contact at bumper, I foresee 2 problems: (a) hard scratching/denting of furniture & (b) potential electrical contact against metal surface although the algorithm should prevent any funky accidents.

If Roomba is also designed with metal charging contact above ground level, then there won't be dust related bad contact which lead to charger overheat for the recent case encountered by Congyuan: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=54545678&postcount=7880

Nice workmanship.
U opened much bigger holes, so the lower compartment will have much larger debris dropping there.

U can also experiment sealing the bottom squeegy. Remove the squeegy on the transparent bottom plate, then fold the other squeegy & tape it with scotch tape.
I'm thinking that will prevent air leakage & dust from dropping out when full.
To empty lower compartment dust & hair, just remove the scotch tape & slide out the filter tray.

The 700 series Aerovac is basically like ur mod with 2 HEPA filters covering the holes u opened. Except the lower compartment is much narrower, I estimate ~5 mm, just for vacuum air to travel. That way, the upper compartment can hold more debris.

uno_bliss mod: opened narrow 6 mm slots
kimsim mod: opened large holes ~50 cts coin size
Both mods will have big difference on air flow & where most of the debris will go, I also can't tell which will be more effective in removing hair from Bristle brush. Although I did keep in mind "venturi effect" during my mod, as mentioned by Jubooo here: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=53295681&postcount=7665

Kimsim, if u read my post here: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=54180593&postcount=7772
Under "variables (a) slot width, length & shape", slot too narrow means motor working very hard & drains more current, slot too big means motor very relax but suction not strong. So the only way to optimise, is to experiment & plot graph.

Analogy: Try blow air thru a straw, blow hard 5 times and ur face will already turn red. But we know that if u put a pea into the straw, u can shoot it like bullet.
That's what I mean by motor work very hard to achieve very high speed air flow.

Hi, Today i was update my Mod VacBin Version 1.1 :s13:

Totally has imporved of paste to fiber filter into both end.
so still can hold many dust or debris on upper compartment,
for lower compartment does not effect the dust go into lower filter area.

Insane Roomba fever indeed...:s13: Kimsim has tried all different models, swap here swap there, coated & re-coated faceplate, modified bin, all in short 2+ mths.

Yes, since the holes u opened are large, the filters u added will prevent overload of the lower compartment.
Also, sealing bottom squeegy becomes optional since dirt won't drop out from there.

Once again I give u some Royalty-free suggestions, if u read my post: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=54180593&postcount=7772
Under "variables (c) whether to build a raise perimeter 1-2 cm high around the slot, which will prevent sand & heavy debris from clotting the slot (assuming slot is filtered)"

Clotting of ur filtered holes is very likely especially if floor is sandy. Few ways to solve this:
1) cut some plastic tube (eg. PVC pipe) ~50 cts coin diameter to make a 1-2 cm wall around the hole
2) paste ur filter paper sloping
3) combine (1) & (2), see Fig 1.
