Bro, I think u can consider aerovac upgrade since u alrdy have a roomba, it does help w the hair compared to the original bin. I have a mint not the mint plus, I do not find it superior in terms of 'sweeping' hair n dust, but it's definitely less noisy and I wld rec mint + if u wanna use it to 'mop' the floor...
Hi all,

I have just cut off my maid. Live in a relative flat EA 1550 vsqft. 4 bedrooms, one dining and one living. Kictchen is separated by a cleft of 1cm drop. Have 3 kids all below 11 yrs and no pets but wife has long hair. Thinkinf of getting help for vacumming and mopping (this will reduce part time helper - currently doing 2X a week). I saw a combo deal. Any adv please?

Thanks
Kenneth

Hi Kenneth,
Based on your needs, With a home size of 1550sqft, the Roomba 500 or 700 series models may not be able to cover the whole home in one cycle. I would recommend the Iclebo Arte ($749) based on your situation.
With 3 young kids, you properly would want something that can clean faster and the iclebo would clean in a systematic way and ensure complete coverage in the least time possible. Can be scheduled daily too. The Iclebo is relatively silent would be able to negotiate the 1cm cleft at your kitchen and can attach a microfiber cloth for secondary wiping.
Before you consider the combo deal, I would suggest you try out 1 unit 1st and see how it works, sure the combo deal can be extended to you thereafter too. Can always arrange to see few models before deciding. Demonstration of the Scooba can be arranged too. :)

Best mopping robot to date?

Hi,

After reading the postings,
it seemed to me that
1) the best mopping robot available to date is irobot scooba
2) Getting Scooba 380 will make more sense than getting Scooba 390.

Is my impression correct?

And where is the best place to get one?
Any promotion ongoing?

Any recommendation is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi sukha,
saying Scooba "mops" is an under-statement & allows it to be compared to other "wet cloth dragging" robots.
If we say Scooba "washes floor", ah... then we're technically correct, and there are no other contenders in same category.

Hi,
1) The Scooba would be able to offer scrubbing and washing of your floor and probably would be the best substitute for manual mopping, which can get pretty tedious. The Scooba also stores dirty water separately and only clean water is used on your floors.
2) The Scooba 380 with version 7 is the same as the scooba 390 in terms of parts and specifications. The Scooba 390 differs in outlook, comes with a greyish Scooba tank and some differences in buttons display, more or less just cosmetic differences. Scooba 390 comes with extra scooba suction bulb, which could be given for free upon request.
All sellers here are nice and friendly. All Products are definitely brand new and original. Would not be able to decide or recommend where is the best. Some do consider the local irobot agent too. But if you need my help can always PM me, will do my utmost to assist :)

iRobot specifically stated in manual that laminate is not safe. Laminate is extremely sensitive to moisture warp, an irreversible process of colour change & curling of edges.

If u die die wanna use, get urself a Vornado (or cheaper equivalent) big air circulator. When Scooba turns circle or go around furniture, more water is left, vs going straight.
I do have one customer with Pergo & since day 1 he say ok, he uses a standing fan. It's been many yrs & he never complain, so I think Pergo is better quality.

Hi, getting either 390/380 to me not much difference, depend whether u prefer to pay a little bit more for new model. My Scooba 380 is still working great, all i need is to tidy up a big area to be mop, let it run and i go for ironing my clothing....:s12:
But a few thing have to remember:
1) wall corner will not be able to get it clean at all, so I will still have to do manual cleaning.
2) lots of water spot will clearly visible especially flooring is whiter color
3) have to run 2 clean full tanks to cover my setup area of around 600sqft
4) need to get extra battery since 1 battery can only last about 1 1/2 tank

since I have 2 battery, I can do a rotation(low bat, put in fresh charge battery to continue and bring the low bat to charge) to mop my house of around 1,300sqft within 3 hours, just nice to let me finish my ironing of clothing

In my search for better pricing, I found this eBay seller in Spore, bestbuy74, offering most competitive pricing I have seen so far for local sellers and they provide 7 days money back warranty and 30 days free warranty. A friend of mine bought twice from them and has no complains of their service.

Anyone bought fr them ? Any issues ?

The Lg Roboking 6142 LVM ($799) would have no problem picking up long hair. Similarly to most robotic cleaner, you do have to do simple mantainence of the brushes. Even for the Roomba brushes, actually with the use of the cleaning tool provided, getting the hair out from the brushes should be fairly simple.
The Lg roboking allows for the attachment of a microfiber wipe too as a secondary mode of cleaning, after it has vacuumed.

The 2012 LG Roboking 6142 ($799) and iclebo arte ($749) have a systematic cleaning system and would cover the edges and corners more comprehensively with 2 side brushes.
you can find some reviews of the LG roboking in past pages of this thread.
For differences between 500 and 700 series, have PM you. Do checkout some videos and reviews online about the cleaning and effectiveness of the various models and I am sure you would make a good choice for your needs.
