For men, it will depend on his health and overall appearance. If he is in good health and younger looking, he can marry a much younger wife. My Viet wife is 25 years younger than me but because of my youthful look, we appeared quite compatible in photos.

Hmm, should this question be directed to the ladies in the Forum instead? I find it difficult to answer on behalf of the ladies.

As a guy, I would say +/- 4 seems to be the optimal age gap due to similar life experiences and expectations. This age gap applies towards establishing meaningful friendships too. I find it difficult to have meaningful conversations with people much younger than me, sadly.

Anyway, I have always a penchant for someone who is slightly older than younger.
