Actually why you wanna pay with Grabpay? Got special perks ah?

"With regards to Shop will not install Windows for you", I would like to share my experience:
I know how to DIY, has been doing since the era of Intel 80486, due to busy I got my new rig recently from SLS.
Initially went to Dynacore, the boss is friendly and knowledgeable, he even suggest me not to get Ryzen 3900X but 3700X instead. I would have gotten the rig from him if he accept Grabpay for payment.

Going thru' the list of shops that accept grabpay, I went to videopro but doesn't have stock for 3700X, took my contact number and said will call me when there's stock but I waited for 2 wks no call (even till now), can guess what kind of service they providing?

Next in the list that support grabpay is TechDeal$, their prices are on the higher side, so i showed the boss videopro and Dynacore's pricelist and he tried to match very closely. I paid a deposit of $100 and the next day he called me that the rig is ready for collection. As I didn't buy any gfx card from them, he is unable to test the rig, so I asked him to plug in any gfx card to test it out and he said ok.
Upon paying the balance, he asked his men to bring me to another shop to collect my rig. The technician unboxed everything and showed me the BIOS for cpu type/memory/disk etc hardware. I noticed the 3x 120cm fans from Tt AIO got no lights, the techician said need to install the RGB software to enable it, he asked me if I can wait, he can install Windows 10 to test it, I didn't buy any Windows from the shop and was surprised the technician offered to install to test the rig (of cos no activation).

I can use the highest cashback credit card to topup grabpay credits.
eg. topup $2000 using HSBC CC and earned 2.5% = $50
I'm a Platinum member, $1 grabpay spent earned 10pts, $2000 earned 20,000 pts.
pts earned can be used to buy stuff or purchase $10 grabride vouchers for 3600 pts, 20,000 pts I can purchase $10 x5 vouchers + $5 x1 voucher.
In other words, using grabpay to pay $2000 stuff, I get $50 cashback + $55 worth of grab rides.

That's the reason why I didn't get from DynaCore but from other shops that accept grabpay. For my rig, I save $100+ using grabpay.

1. Shop would not install Windows for u. They can boot up until bios need os disk means done job for them. Unless u buy windows from them which is usually retail price 100+

2. Refer above.

3. Buying from sls is not the right choice for u then. Go for dreamcore or Aftershock.
All sls shops do not need to entertain u for troubleshooting. Aftershock/dreamcore have after sales support.

4. The shops survive by selling parts duh. Their main product is their parts, not service. Service to them is an add-on.

My reply to your statements 1-3 is, any main shop in simlim WILL install windows for you including driver installation. I've check with Fuwell, PCThemes, Dynacore, Bizgram and even Infinity PCs most of them charge 20-50. If you even read my original post, you would know that I already have some parts that I would like to transfer over so why would I get a whole new PC from aftershock etc. Lastly, did you even read what I quote replied to? That dude that I replied to stated that shops are just out for money so I replied No **** Sherlock. TLDR; Read the original post before replying, don't waste time typing this ****.

His point is the shop ppl may not know much about troubleshooting too

and my point is that if I get it done via the shop, I ask them to test it and it ****s up, I can just ask them to fix it cause after all I paid for a service so I expect it to be upheld

Windows 10 installation doesn't require immediate activation unlike in the Windows 7, 8 days where a license have to key in before you can install. You can install Windows 10 first and use it for some time before you are required to activate with a genuine license key.

Thats my understanding, correct me if I am wrong.

I guessed you probably doesn't know you can get actually get $100 off a $800 purchase on a Dynacore system on Qoo10. ;)

add: I think Qoo10 accepts grabpay so double wammy... could have $200 saved and a preferred system builder.

You can use it till the cow comes home and still not activate it.

Fuwell is alright and one of the few shops that will actually be interested and ask 'how can i help you' as part of customer service.. i dont think their price is fantastic but we are looking at trustworthiness, so ya.

This guy young Padawan la✌️. Confirm new to the SLS scene let alone diy. In the first place diy means do it urself not shop do it for you. Just because sls price list states $30 u take out from ur wallet three $10 notes nahhh, the shop is gg to sit down and sayang ur new components nicely cable manage for you. Boot up sit there for 3hrs source for the latest intel drivers, nvidia drivers, Broadcom drivers then test them out run benchmark and connect to their shop WiFi speed test to see if it works ah? Hahaha. Bro give u some pro tips, in life sometimes it’s good to read up and understand the mechanics of motherboard, cpu, ram, PSU, displayCard and how they interact with one another so when sheet hits the fan u don’t just go crying why they never install driver properly for me? And bring down the whole PC Fuwell and demand ur entitlement “hey I paid $30 why my driver not working I can’t connect WiFi”.

You already stated in first post “you’re LAZY” “installing windows and bios is such a scary and intimidating task” that’s why the previous bro already suggested to you, and I share the same sentiments. PC DIY is not for you. Go for aftershock, nothing to do with “I have a few components to add on to my rig” btw if some shops do the addons it’s a courtesy gesture, Stop thinking its SOP and ur entitlement. In this day and age of YouTube so many vids to teach on diy building, u can’t say there no material to learn. Back 20years ago folks like us SLS didn’t even have assemble for you service. U just buy and carry bags of PC stuff and go home. Wanna jump into the DIY scene but lazy to read up, just go dell pay for highest configuration and premium onsite service 5 years warranty. Think it’s more suitable for you.

Ok understood. For sls, it's really a mix blend of good n bad hats. But i agree with some here that ultimately for diy pc, best to eventually diy rather than depend on the shop. Cos that's the whole idea unless yr paying a premium for brands then u can demand a certain type of service. For sls shops, it's more like a privilege than entitlement. U be better off taking this approach if diy is a path u prefer.

He was probably referring to aftersales than in store service

You do know it's called assembly fee and not setup fee right? Yes if they fix already PC don't boot up, that's their issue, they change parts for you. You expect them spoon feed you with everything for a mere $20~$50?

Don't want to mess with drivers, win10 made it so easy that drivers auto help you find and install still lazy and scared to mess up? So mean to say after they supposedly "setup" everything for you already, you don't even update your driver etc in the future?

It's like going food court and expect fine dining experience :s39:

Trustworthy yes for both dynacore and pcthemes. For Dyna look for Abdul he is the equivalent of yilong. For pct avoid the uncle with specs.

LOL quite direct sia bro

Yeah usually i only deal with Yilong and the Boss (long time ago)

Those who offer to install Windows are the exception not the norm.

PCT also helped me to install as well

Usually I will DIY but since this is almost an overhaul for me (got all the things from them anyway), I let them do it for me this time
