instead of using cheaper gas, induction is just using lots of more expensive electricity to heat things up. but indeed electricity is faster in heating. your money, your choice.

This theory may not be necessarily true since someone sabotaged the nordstream pipe line from Russia to Europe. Natural gas prices worldwide surged... I don't know what's the cost difference cooking with gas versus electricity. I guess the difference is likely minimal.

Like some said, the cooking pot hardly stain when using induction. You probably have to scrub the pots real hard cooking with gas till one day, you just gave up and change the pot after couple of years. Think the convenience of induction outweigh the taste of gas cooked food most time.

One inconvenience, my electricity tripped recently and suddenly I cannot cook for the big family till an electrician come and rectify the issue.šŸ™

gas still the best.

gas is cheaper than induction. electricity bill might increase in the future also.
gas is also easy to clean.
gas suitable for stir fry

the cons
-check for gas leak
-not suitable for windy kitchen
-slower for boiling/steaming

reference
Cost of using gas stove 10 years = $900 + $260~$480 (stove/hob+maintenance)
Cost of using induction 10 years = $1425.6 + $120 (3 x induction cooker)
Are you going for gas in your new house? But installation very ex leh šŸ™

actually for most of the developed countries, gas is way more expensive.
some countries have started abolishing use of gas

I'm using induction and ceramic cooker. The main advantage is it won't take long to clean up and restore kitchen to showroom condition.

For them ok. They dun do stir fry. You use induction stir fry, food will be flat and cold.

Stove is easier to clean and cheaper (less than $100 for a basic model).

So much easier to clean n maintain. Induction stove is a game changer for me, never going back to gas. Plus I think wok hey can be achieved if you use the right wok. I have a Le creuset Marmite wok and the wok hey is pretty good although I seldom do stir-fry. I mostly cook soupy stuff like porridge and noodles, cleaning porridge spillage on a gas stove can be v frustrating.. induction is also prettier to look at and safer and got timer.

Induction still better, use as needed especially if not cooking often.

Use town gas still need a monthly subscription basic fee even if not using.

Use cylinder gas still need to replace the pipes and connector heads from time to time.

Induction cookware needs to be magnetic

Cast iron and some magnetic SS works. Cast iron cookware is heavy ah.

Or can use a magnetic heat diffuser and put below those non-magnetic cookware also works
