This is Aussie and Mauritis lychee season. Literally more expensive than China, Taiwan and the rest of the world, their season over.

AI Overview

Lychee season generally runs from late spring to summer (May to August) in the Northern Hemisphere (China, Vietnam, Taiwan), while Southern Hemisphere sources like Madagascar peak from October to April, making fresh lychees available almost year-round if sourcing globally. The prime time for popular Chinese and Vietnamese varieties is typically June to July, with peak availability often in June.
