I am underweight. But my cholesterol levels is unhealthy level. All doc said genetic but I tried to control my diet (no fried food, no snacks , no pastries , no cream n dressing, no processed food). I usually have avocados as breakfast n natto as dinner with my rice. This diet has been for years as I worry my blood has plaque.

However I diligently brisk walking everyday for at least 3 months. Cholesterol really drops fast.
Sometime last year , I had big drop in cholesterol within 3 weeks, by close to 2 mmol . Walking almost daily.
But recently 2 or 3 months of exercises at home only brought much less improvement , worse still LDL didn't go down ☹.

can it help with weight loss, cholesterol management along with food control?

It's very difficult to achieve 5,000 steps if one drives. Ditched the car, I need to walk to few places around my neighborhood maybe 1.7km to hit 5,000. 10,000 likely need 3.5km or beyond.

Calorie intake > what your body needs = get fat

Calorie intake < what your body needs = slim down

Simple as that , if you want to slim down
Exercise more , make your body need more
And also watch your diet for the Calorie intake

That way your body swee swee bo zao zui

Have a rounded exercise routine is better

Forced march (not just walking) 10Km twice a week. Do strength exercise twice a week. Have one day for whole body from head to toe exercise. Relax for 2 days in-between
