So, what have we learn from this saga?

We can set up a business, sell things very cheaply, attract customers, pretend to be their friends and earn their trust. Then when the time is ripe lure them into a trap. Got enough $$, gives loads of excuses and just declare bankuptcy and close shop.

Nothing CASE can do
Nothing Small Court Tribunal can do
Nothing Police can do

Just Mike happily keep the money, throw his daughter a "customised" birthday party and maybe try his luck at the tables?

If the seller has an intent to cheat, there's nothing us sellers can do.
Going forward, we juz need to be more alert and careful.
While my trust towards sellers hv generally taken a hit, I do believe not all are bad and F'up like Mike.

Sigh, I'm also one of the victim. He replied to people SMS, email and answer calls but I tried them, I never receive any replies... Plus I don't have any transaction slip, didn't know where I putted them.

Sadly and unfortunately, I think you are right.

I am a victim that fall to ******* that make use the term of friendship and loyalty .. It may looks like space project to get the money back but at least if the previous police report case number is reveal will benefit more victim like me that unable join in that time and file individual report to the police ..

I already give up on getting my money back.

My only hopes with this police report is for something to be done to prevent the same thing from happening again.

Mike has shown us it's possible to legally escape responsibility just by filing for bankruptcy.

Next thing you know, other people will be doing the same thing and our families and friends may be the next victim.

in real life theres debitor and creditor.

I think the money it takes to do all the process that you mention might be more than what we are trying to claim back from that con-man

Do explain to us in detail about debitor/creditor/ipto. I doubt a lot of us know all these terms.

And judging from the progress so far, from the advice given to us when we went down to the Police Cantonment that day to file the police report, there is nothing much that can be done and the guy has run off scott free.

o how,do we proceed with the small claims, or the police report? or just wait till we are paid off? i will not support all these personal attacks,but to each his own...i just wan my money back...

i think you need to check out the site for small claims http://app.subcourts.gov.sg/sct/index.aspx

do take note it can only help if the claim is within 1 year, i.e if your payment is within 1 year from the lodging of the claim.

I stop trading with him after he isn't able to secure the Chrono Trigger formation art for me during last year.(Till date i am still unable to get this set of toys ) He agree to refund me but also gone missing. I then contact his wife instead and lucky for me able to get back my money...

O_O you manage contact his wife and manage to get back your money? Mind telling us how do you contacted her? And may i ask when did you contact her anyway? He got away like $100+ from me... lucky not all item was fully paid...

Yup i contacted her before the declare bankrupt email was sent out. I contact her tru her email and she sms me using mike number. I feel sorry for those who are affected...
