Power Saver is a monitoring safety device that does not draw any power from the car battery. Power magic pro is just another similar product with on/off switch, by disconnecting the power supply which is similar to disconnecting the power from the dvr (the actual thing drawing power).
Correct me if i am wrong.:vijayadmin:

So far, i have always been overseas from 1-2 weeks and disconnecting the power cable from my dvr doesnt drain my battery when i am back. And i am running 2 cameras front and back with 2 power savers. Hope it helps.

Cheers!
this us my observation. when you unplug the power cable from the camera, the camera will be off, no power. but since you connect the red cable to the battery, the ups still suckling the juice as it had a circuit in it to monitor the voltage. it will off when timer reach or voltage drop to the preset value. so if ur battery is old, it will give additional stress to it. I have been monitor my battery voltage. when it new, when just turn on my key.. my voltage is above 12v and now is between 11.8to 12v. my parking have reduce from 12hours down to below 12hr..so meaning battery is loosing it power

when i first got the itb product, i did not opt for ignition, i juz plug it into the cig socket...when parking overnite, i will juz plug out the socket...but wat i heard is it may loosen the connection overtime, duno how true is tat...
the previous time when i left the car idle for 4 days wif the cable still in the cig socket, i could not start the car on the 5th day (battery is only few months old btw)...i guess it somehow still draws power even when engine is off...or maybe its the car n cig socket issue though, nth to do wif the cam...

Good observation made on the red cable part, but let me further explain where it is actually connected to.
Our main installer will usually tap this red wire directly to our car IU(for our ERP), which is drawing power continuously(even during parking) even without any camera or power saver installed. So say it strictly, the IU is draining the battery, not the Power saver. It does not require any power to monitor the voltage. This piece of information is confirmed by the manufacturer. Hope it helps.

Anyone got this issue whereby, when you unlock your car(alarm), when you open the door step into the car, the ITb100HD just off by itself? Then when you start the engine, the camera then bootup again? Or is it normal actually?

If you don't need surveillance, then just tap to ignition without Power saver.
but the current promotion comes with power saver right.

or am i able to configure such that surveillance is only for the first 5 hour or so and thn it auto shuts off.

cos i read unplugging the power from the camera doesnt help stop the battery drain.

u have to draw ur own conclusion...for me i feel it definetly stresses the batt out faster...if got warranty on batt ok...if not xiong man every 7-10mths change batt. vcs car batt 300+ per unit

Just to share my own experience regarding the battery. I installed the power saver and then in March i went holiday for 4 days and right after that my battery died and i had to change a new battery. To be honest i dunno if the camera has drained off the battery or the battery was due to die in any case. For XuiteShop's reference. cheers!

Yes correct free Power saver.
Read my previous post. Power safer doesn't drain battery.
You can set to higher voltage limit or lower hours.

Hi if your battery is above 1.5 years old, I will always advise to unplug the connector if not in use for 3 days.
Cheers

in the car..without any in car camera..what are the component that still draw current from the battery even when your engine is off..
thing like:
1. ECU (internal clock and some other features)
2. ICE (internal clock)
3. IU
4. Car alarm system
5. Head lamp when turn on

now when you install the car camera using just the cigarette plug to the car, there will be no current flow the camera once the engine is off

But, when you install it with the power saver or power magic pro with all wires (black, red, yellow) connected, when you off the engine, the power saver/power magic is still drawing current from the battery to supply the power to the camera for parking monitor.
The yellow cable is to connect to the ignition or ACC, meaning to say, when you turn on your key or crank, the camera turn on. The red wire is connect to the wire that still goes live even when engine is off, in this case connect to any of the above which most installer will connect to the IU.
Now, since the Power save have a build in timer and voltage monitor, it too need current to be constantly supply so that it can monitor. So when you unplug the connector from the camera, you just cut off the current supply to the camera from the power saver but the curent from the battery to the power saver is still constantly been feed into till the timer up or voltage drop to the preset value, like 12V, and then the power saver will be off state.
The power magic pro come with the switch is the only way to total cut off the current to the power magic pro while the power saver dose not have this feature and it depend on the timer and voltage sim switch to do the job. So if you have a weak or old battery, it may cause you to unable to start the car.
How I know, cause I have measure the current before and after the Power saver when the power plug to the camera is unplug.

no la dont scare him, my battery only 7 months old.:s13:

Mine like 5 months only. So I wondering what's wrong when I meet this issue. Moreover it don't seem to be happening all the time. Except when I park for a long period of time like few hours. Hope I don't landed myself with a dead batt
