for those using cig socket for ur car cam, its better to plug out the cable if u r parking for two days or more...i read somewhere tat the cig socket on some cars depending on the models still draws power to the equipment even when the engine is off, dun ask me why though...
i learn it the hard way, a $140 lesson...

in the car..without any in car camera..what are the component that still draw current from the battery even when your engine is off..
thing like:
1. ECU (internal clock and some other features)
2. ICE (internal clock)
3. IU
4. Car alarm system
5. Head lamp when turn on

now when you install the car camera using just the cigarette plug to the car, there will be no current flow the camera once the engine is off

But, when you install it with the power saver or power magic pro with all wires (black, red, yellow) connected, when you off the engine, the power saver/power magic is still drawing current from the battery to supply the power to the camera for parking monitor.
The yellow cable is to connect to the ignition or ACC, meaning to say, when you turn on your key or crank, the camera turn on. The red wire is connect to the wire that still goes live even when engine is off, in this case connect to any of the above which most installer will connect to the IU.
Now, since the Power save have a build in timer and voltage monitor, it too need current to be constantly supply so that it can monitor. So when you unplug the connector from the camera, you just cut off the current supply to the camera from the power saver but the curent from the battery to the power saver is still constantly been feed into till the timer up or voltage drop to the preset value, like 12V, and then the power saver will be off state.
The power magic pro come with the switch is the only way to total cut off the current to the power magic pro while the power saver dose not have this feature and it depend on the timer and voltage sim switch to do the job. So if you have a weak or old battery, it may cause you to unable to start the car.
How I know, cause I have measure the current before and after the Power saver when the power plug to the camera is unplug.
I will confirm again with the manufacturer on this part & revert:
"Now, since the Power save have a build in timer and voltage monitor, it too need current to be constantly supply so that it can monitor. "
Good point to be highlighted again.
Cheers.

I have just confirmed with Itronics manufacturer, when we unplug the power connector from the dvr, the micro processor inside the Power Saver to monitor the time & voltage only draws 200uA which is impossible to drain the car battery within 1-2 weeks based solely on this mini consumption. It will take 1-2months to drain the car battery on this consumption solely as explained by them. So I beleive the major drainage is still caused by:
1. ECU (internal clock and some other features)
2. ICE (internal clock)
3. IU
4. Car alarm system

Hope it helps. :vijayadmin:

Hi guys, is there such thing as battery pack for the ITB100HD? As in so that when the car is in parking mode, it will get power source from this battery pack instead of the car's battery.

Latest Review by Happy Customer of Anyview SI-400:
Katharine Kum

I was highly recommended to buy an Itronics product from Dsxuite by a colleague, who has previously bought an ITB-100HD. I saw the videos captured from the camera and was impressed.

Bought an Anyview SI400 which offers front and back cameras from Xavier of Dsxuite and gotten it installed on 13/5/2013. Everything from purchasing and installation was smooth and fuss-free.

Xavier replied all my whatapps on the Anyview SI400 despite my many queries which lasted up till 11.15 pm at night after installation. He was very helpful and get me through each step to make sure that I have gotten the settings right.

I have my concerns on the Anyview SI400’s lower resolution and smaller captured angle as compared to the ITB-100HD but it was totally unnecessary. The video quality from Anyview SI400 for both night and day were very good and clear, the angle captured is more than sufficient. My colleagues have a viewing of the images from Anyview SI 400 and were all impressed.

Thank you Xavier, for your precious time and patience. An excellent product indeed.

The SD card cannot be blank. Power up the card with the unit for at least one time then try again.:)

Ya.. T-power... I think sgd135 or less. you can recharge it from cig source.

full charge probably last you 6 hours. After that, I think the power saver take over until cutoff voltage.

I think it's just an additional insurance. it prevents the occasional draining and charging of your car battery which shortens the life span. Apart from it, I am still wondering if it really a good thing to get.

HALT! We won't be able to cover warranty if it's not purchased from us.
It has come to our attention that recently a buyer have tried to claim warranty from us even though his unit is bought from unauthorised reseller.
We regret that we have rejected his request for support his warranty claim & have advised him to check with Itronics Korea if his purchase will be covered by Itronics Korea.
Here is a screen shot of the reply from Itronics:

Itronics do not warrant for units purchase from unauthorised reseller. So please do take note!

Get it from authorised source, & have a peace of mind with our 18 months local warranty!

Hi if your battery is above 1.5 years old, I will always advise to unplug the connector if not in use for 3 days.
Cheers[/QUOTE
Hi Xavier, I hit the same problem. My battery is only 1 year and 6 myths. I bought the power save and did the power switch like you recommended and switched it off when I went holiday for 2 ays. When I came back, I managed to drive the car home once. After this, the car died. That is why I SMS you whether I still need to plug out the power cord even though I switched off using the button so that I can eliminate any power wastage during the time when i go holiday. I think you have not reply me yet.

just curious, where did you stall the switch, between camera and the power Saver or between power Saver and the
car battery ie on the yellow cable?

Hi gaolow,

I did not really take note as someone at Car Beauty installed for me at $8. I was told that I can switch off the DVR using this switch instead of pulling out the power plug. However, I am not sure if the switch also power off the power saver, which I am trying to clarify with Xavier now.

As of now, I think the only sure way to reduce battery drain is to unplug the whole car battery, which of course will also disable your car alarm

think most likely they install between the camera and the power saver..to turn off the power saver, you need to install the switch between the power saver and the battery which is the yellow cable on the power saver.
you can do a check on the switch on what the color of the wire did it connect to or trace the switch wire to see where it lead to.
the power plug to the camera is a solid black cable with two wire in it if you cut off. this cable will have a ciga type of plug at the end where it plug to the power saver. on the power saver, there is a red LED to indicate there is a power feeding to it. if you turn the switch off and the LED still solid light on (not blinking)on the power saver, then it confirm that the switch is connected between the camera and the power saver..in this case, it dose help to prevent battery drain as power saver still suck current from the battery.

but, another possible on why your battery dies early is either a faulty power saver which did not cut off the voltage from the battery or you set the cut off voltage too low, like 11.8 v or the time delay too long..like 24 or 48hrs

Hi gaolow,

Thanks for your advice, I will check with Xavier on the power saver portion. I sent in my car for agent servicing only in April, and they verified my battery still good.

Hi, for battery above 1 year old, kindly power off by unplugging the power cable or turn off the on/off switch if installed.
Reason explained here:
