In order for you to find out worth or not, why don't u try their lunch instead. It much cheaper. Plus there are few branches so try their HQ will be better. And you have the choice of sitting at kyubey-San table at a premium price.

Currently Average dinner pricing at a good sushi shop is around 20k Yen exclude drinks.

Do you mean omakase sushi dinner? Kyubey is a sushi restaurant and not a Kaiseki place, no? Anyway as with many things in life, things get exponentially more expensive with marginal improvements in quality. Very hard to say whether it is "worth it" or not hehehe.

Kyubey is a sushi restauarant. They have set dinner, eg set A 15k yen, set B 20k yen, set C 25k yen etc. and they like to use season or flower name instead of using set A or B etc. Thus many non Japanese tends to interpret as kaiseki ( as seen in a real kaiseki place menu those season or flower name etc ) so 15k yen can't be omasake in kyubey too. Likely is entry level of 10 to 12 pieces sushi with one hand roll and soup etc. That's why advice them to try lunch instead, which is also 10 piece sushi but price is much cheaper than 15k yen.

Even the word omasake also kinda use for convenience in recents years. Those where we usually see in Stars restauarant. U will see omakase set how much, how many piece etc in Jiro or sawada.

But if u go to a typical Japanese sushi restaurant with very little exposure to non japanese customers, the omasake meal has no price tag and is abit different. The chef will serve u the season best his shop can offer on that day but it not limit by the number of pieces. The chef will observe your tastebuds (what u like etc) so the next piece will bring u up another level. The chef will keep on serving u regardless of how many pieces u ate until u give the signal that u are full. As for the cost of such meal is definitely cheaper than commercialised western influence stars sushi restaurant.
