jus came back from tyo, so far the cheapest & filling food is yoshinoya. a bowl of beef rice only Y280 compared to the ramen everywhere which is Y650 at least. even those road side stall ramen oso cost Y700.

btw, those who wish to eat at e sushi at tsujiki market, it cost Y3500 for a set. but its realli fresh & nice.

280yen beef bowl exists. yoshinoya has a competitor called matsuya.

just look for a shop with a vending machine ticket-issuing thing. within 500 yen budget is no problem. my favourite place is ten-ya, sells tempura don. best part is that it still trashes $12-13 places in ion orchard and what not.

Do I point at the picuture and say "kore hitotsu?"

just point, and use finger to indicate one bowl.
Or drag the waiter outside to the displays.

squid ink pudding, hakodate asai ichi/morning market. 150 yen. tasted sweet and came in a bulbous packaging (looked like it had been stuffed in a miniature condom) quite fun to eat. it bounced around when it was in its packaging. had to prick it with a toothpick and the packaging would burst to produce this.

onuma koen special dish: super jumbo yaki-soba. 3,000 yen. shared amongst 5 people, 600 yen each. cheap, filling and *omg, its so damned ****** enormous* experience.

strangely, it tasted more like sen mian/the chinese fried noodles with the sticky brown sauce poured on top of it, rather than yakisoba. but at the same time, it tasted very japanese. the sauce was kinda sweet and tasted very unique.

ajisen ramen, hakodate kane mori/redbrick warehouse. just beside hotel la vista. 750 yen. no idea if its related to the ajisen ramen chain we have here. light, filling and very very good shio ramen. not overly salty. really nice deco and atmosphere at the place. stock is excellent. light, almost like what you'd expect out of wanton soup, without being overly salty. could have had more char siew though. waited about 20 minutes to eat.
