One of the reason why i decide to do the latest arrangement is becoz from Hakone Yumeto station we need to take a bus to the resort and i think it takes abt 20mins.

So going up to put our luggage and back down again will waste us quite a bit of time.

How can i forward our luggage to my next hotel in Tokyo? If this is an option it would be going. Then we can proceed with the original plan.

can use delivery service such as Ta-Q-Bin. ur hotel shld be able to help u arrange for the delivery. and get ur hotel to call ur next hotel to inform them of the luggage delivery, or email ur hotel, so that they will be expecting the delivery

the pass is valid only for 5 consecutive days, so if u active on day 5, it will not cover ur last day.

do check with ur accom if they can hold ur luggage coz u are gone for 3 days for takayama, shirakawago and kanazawa. or check if the forwarding service can hold them and only deliver on the day u are arriving. typically forwarding service is overnight. storage probably require some additional cost.
Hi evilerniex

thank you for your advise. I am checking the option of holding my luggages with the courier. Seems like they may be able to do it. Can I know if i start the pass on the day of arrival (touch down Kansai 9.45pm on 22 Dec), which day and what time time does the pass expire? Is it on 27 Dec at 9.45pm? In this case, it seems like the pass cannot cover my trip back to Osaka from Kanazawa?

JR pass go by day.
if u are using the takayama hokuriku pass, it is valid for 5 consecutive days. regardless of wat time u activate it on 22 Dec, u can only use it until 26 Dec midnight.

Hi guys

Sorry if these qs has been asked, just found this thread and I am travelling later tonight thus no time to surf :

(1) Can I confirm I can buy a data sim card at Kansai International Airport Terminal 1 ? Where is it ?

(2) Is there a direct train from Osaka to Inari Tori Gate in Kyoto ? If no, what is the best way to travel there ?

Thank you so much !!

use this website to search for all trains:
http://www.hyperdia.com/en/

from Osaka station to Inari station, u need to change train at Kyoto station. take JR special rapid train from Osaka to Kyoto, then JR Nara line to Inari

luggage can always leave it at ur accom before check-in or after check-out. so dun have to return at 3pm for check-in, just need to be in time for the dinner.

note that the hakone free pass only cover odakyu line from Shinjuku to Odawara. Yokohama is not on the odakyu line, so u will have to pay for the trip from odawara to yokohama. u may want to calculate and see whether the 4000yen version that doesn't include the round trip is more worth it.

alternatively, u can consider forwarding ur luggage overnight from Kyoto to ur accom in Tokyo and going hakone on day 6. just bring along stuff for 1 night stay in hakone. that way u dun have to worry about luggage while in hakone, and u save a bit on transport since hakone is along the way from Kyoto to Tokyo
Yup maybe forwarding th luggage is a better option.

From Nara Park to go to Sanomiya station, i can take the kintetsu-nara line, hanshin-nara line then hanshin line?

Dear all, first timer here & I'm planning for a Tokyo trip (8Days) this coming Sept. Will be taking night 2300hrs flight from sg to Haneda airport 0630hrs+..

Day 1: check in hotel at Shinjuku area. And tour around.
Day 2: Express bus to mt Fuji for sight seeing & experience hot springs. (Wouldn't be staying there for a night unless there's attraction if not will be heading back to Shinjuku evening time.. And suggestions thanks)
Day 3 4 5: will be going to those attractions area in Tokyo area.
Day 6 7: check out from Shinjuku hotel n train over to Tokyo Disney resort for 2 nights. Visit Disneyland on day 6 & 7...
Day 8: last min shopping at Disney area & head down to airport for flight back.

Hmm... Is it better to put Disney stay on day 1 & 2 or day 6 & 7... If I wish to slot in Shinkansen experience, where and which day can I put it in? TIA..

will be better to put disney at the start of the trip so u can do ur shopping on the last few days in tokyo.

shinkansen is expensive and meant for travelling long distance. based on the places u are going, there is no need for shinkansen. if u really want, u can take shinkansen to mishima station then take bus to lake kawaguchi. but this is going to be longer and more expensive than taking direct bus

[can visit ueno in the morning, or put shinjuku at night. asakusa+skytree probably wun take the whole day]
Day 7: Tsukuki Market, Odaiba
Day 8: Disney

Day 10: Evening flight so not sure what to do in the afternoon.

Hi all. Traveling to osaka and its surrounding area.

Day 1: After checking into hotel in the morning, will be going to osaka castle and its surrounding, after lunch, proceed to Osaka aquarium kaiyukan then end at shinsaibashi for dinner.
Day 2: Going to Nara park/ surrounding then lunch at nara. Anywhere else to walk before I proceed to dotonbori to walk and eat at night? What time is a good time to start exploring dotonbori?
Day 3: Kyoto, kinkakuji, ginkakuji, philosopher path, nanzen-ji temple, kiyomizudera, dodaiji temple, shijo shopping centre, gion.
Day 4: Arashiyama bamboo grove (taking sagano scenic railway), noji castle, nishiki market, fushimi inari shrine. After exploring fushimi inari shrine, will proceed to kobe for sight seeing.
Will it be too rushed on this day?
Day 5: USJ.
Day 6: Instant ramen museum, pokemon center, umeda sky building, osaka takashimaya for shopping.
Day 7: Yamazaki distillery, kuromon market, abeno harukas for observatory and department store.
Day 8: Morning flight back.

As this is the first time travelling to osaka and its surrounding, please help me if the itinerary is too rush/ tight; anywhere that I do not need to see/ need to see; places to swap around to make the itinerary less rush. :D

[dotonbori looks better at night, especially for the iconic glico man neon sign. however, the entire area (namba, shinsaibashi etc.) is all shopping and food and u can go anytime]
Day 3: Kyoto, kinkakuji, ginkakuji, philosopher path, nanzen-ji temple, kiyomizudera, dodaiji temple, shijo shopping centre, gion.
Day 4: Arashiyama bamboo grove (taking sagano scenic railway), noji castle, nishiki market, fushimi inari shrine. After exploring fushimi inari shrine, will proceed to kobe for sight seeing.
[this is way too packed, even without kobe. arashiyama will take at least half a day, especially since u are thaking the scenic railway, which require quite a bit of waiting. u may want to put kobe on day 2 or day 6 instead]
Will it be too rushed on this day?
Day 5: USJ.
Day 6: Instant ramen museum, pokemon center, umeda sky building, osaka takashimaya for shopping.
[takashimaya is in namba, can put it in day 3 together with dotonbori]
Day 7: Yamazaki distillery, kuromon market, abeno harukas for observatory and department store.
Day 8: Morning flight back.

Thanks for the info and advice. Will shift or remove some places. What would you recommend to remove? If it is roughly the same things, then no point seeing.
