Advice/Suggestion needed for Day 10 & 11, can Hakone be covered in a day, cause don't think i will be staying overnight there. Any other additions i can add in to the rest of the days?

any reason for switching hotel on day7?

hakone can be done in a day, depending on what u want to see and do. but hakone is known for its onsen, so ppl usually stay a night in an onsen ryokan for the experience. how about staying a night in hakone then travelling to kawaguchiko the next day?

the grouping looks alright. but itinerary may be a bit packed though. but tt depends on ur pace lah. maybe prioritize and see which place u want to drop if not enuf time?

I am planning for a self drive trip to Hokkaido on end of July, it will be my first self drive trip to Japan. Will like to seek advise if the my route is do able?

- Day 1, Arrive at New Chitose Airport, Proceed to Sapporo Hotel (rest and relax after red eye flight) - I have just been to Sapporo this year January or should I drive satright from new chitose airport to Furano?
- Day 2, Drive from Sapporo to Furano, Tomita Farm , Tomita Melon House, Furano Cheese Factory - Furano Prince Hotel
- Day 3, Biei, Patchwork Road,Panorama Road,Farm Restaurant Chiyoda + Chiyoda Farm - Furano Prince Hotel
- Day 4, Furano to Lake Toya, on the way stop at Sobetsu fruit village Stay at Lake Toya Nonokaze Resort
- Day 5, Lake Toya to Rusutsu resort, Stay Rusutsu Resort
- Day 6, Rusutsu Resort to Chitose Outlet Mall Rera before flying back to Singapore

it is about 2-3 hours drive to furano. probably not too bad if u want to go straight to furano from chitose. maybe u can find some place to stop over for lunch along the way?

evilerniex, Thanks for your quick reply. Let me check with my hub if he is okay to drive after a red eye flight. btw should I add on extra day for Furano? Initially was thinking of arriving at Hadokate and stay for 2 nights before driving now to Furano, will it be better?

if u want to land in hakodate and drive up, then maybe u want to reverse the order of ur itinerary? hakodate, then lake toya etc

u mean urs is still p-plate licence?
to drive in japan, u need international driving permit (IDP), which u can obtain from Automotive Association (AA). maybe u can check with AA if p-plate can obtain IDP

shirakawago is a bit out of the way from the rest of the places u are going. will be a lot easier to head to lake kawaguchi from kyoto, and then to tokyo.

but if u are going shirakawago, i would think it is easier to head toyama by bus and then take the hokuriku shinkansen to tokyo. then make lake kawaguchi a day trip from tokyo

i dun think there are any JR passes that is worth it for ur trip

Thanks. A lot of reading up and a lot of last minute changes for Izu Peninsula. Had three days of extreme winds and rains until train and ferry services were suspended. So either had to stay put in some stations or take buses instead.
