Hi all, has anyone been to Rinku outlet? Worth checking out?
Will be based in Kyoto.

maybe u can refer to their website to see what are the brands that are available there, see if there is any brand that u are interested.

rinku town is a bit far from kyoto. it is one station away from kansai airport, just before the bridge that takes u over to the island that the airport is at. will be easier if u visit it before going to the airport, maybe find locker to keep ur luggage while u shop.

Just Booked My Hotels + Air tix

Day 1 to Day 5 - Tokyo
Day 6,7 - Hakone
Day 8,9,10 - Yokohama
Day 10,11,12,13 - Osaka
Day 14,15 - Nagoya
Day 16,17 - Fukuoka
Day 18- Back to SG.

Hotels w/o the hakone onsen is relatively cheap.

Any suggestions where is a must visit for these places?

do note that it is a long way from nagoya to fukuoka, about 4hrs by shinkansen.

u may want to consider shuffling ur itinerary a bit. u can save some time travelling if do yokohama -> nagoya -> osaka -> fukuoka because osaka is along the way from nagoya to fukuoka.

can consider putting yokohama and tokyo together since they are near each other, then travel from hakone to straight to nagoya or osaka.

any particular reason for having 3 days in yokohama? coz most ppl just make it a day trip from tokyo

Just came back from tokyo. Still cold as ever and safe as well. No sign of panic or what-so-ever.

My itinerary is as follows:

First day - After check-in, Dinner at Shinjuku and take train to shibuya for shopping

Second Day - Harujuku shopping, Yoyogi park but no sakura and Meiji Shrine. Go Nakano Broadway. Night go company dinner followed by Roponggi Hills for some drinks

Third Day - Shinjuku Shop and eat. Checkin another hotel and Odaiba (Aquacity, Divercity, Palette Town, Venus Fort) Clubbing at Shibuya

Fourth Day - Noon Asakusa Temple, Skytree, Akihabara Anime Shopping and Ginza for shopping and dinner

Fifth Day - Mt Fuji, Hakone, Owakudani Valley, Lake Aishi Cruise Tour

Sixth Day - Tsukiji Fish Market, Harajuku Shopping, Akihabara again lol

Seventh Day - Shinjuku eat and shop last minute. Singapore.

Alot of places never go due to low interest and no time like Tokyo Dome, Disneyland, Tokyo Tower, Imperial Palace, Edo Museum

- Sakura viewing at Kema Sakuranomiya Park

- Dinner n walk around at Dotonbori

Day 2:
- Side trip to Kobe to eat at Steakland
- Side trip to Nara to see temples, walk around, feed deer

Day 3:
- USJ

Day 4:
- Travel to Kyoto
- Nishiki Market
- Kaiseki Dinner

Day 5:
- Sakura viewing at Ninnaji temple
- Kinkakuji
- Stop off at Hanaore for sabazushi
- Gion and Miyako Odori (Geiko/Maiko spring dance)
- Back to ryokan for hot soak in public bath

Day 6:
- Travel to Tokyo (~3hr by Shinkansen)
- Sensoji temple, nakamise shopping street, and the awesome Melon Pan
- Tokyo Sky Tree and shopping around the mall there

Day 7:
- Tsukiji market tuna auction
- Queue for sushi dai omakase
- Go back hotel to sleep (cos we woke up at 3am for the tuna auction)
- Takashimaya Nihonbashi for dinner and depachika ogling.

Day 8:
- Shinjuku Gyoen
- Shinjuku Isetan window shopping and depachika ogling
- MOVE cafe shinjuku lunch
- Odaiba Gundam and omiyage shopping at diver city tokyo
- depachika ogling at Mitsukoshi nihonbashi

How did you travel from osaka to kobe and nara? Using the thru pass or ?

For me I initially had no intention to go Kobe, it was a last minute decision to head there just for early lunch and then after lunch head straight to Nara. So I can't comment on what there is to see in Kobe and how long it takes.

Transport wise, Osaka to Kobe is 20-30mins (depending on JR or Hankyuu), Kobe to Nara is about 1.5 hours. I arrived in Kobe about 10.45am and lunch 11am-12noon. Head straight to Nara and reach about 1.30pm.

Nara half day IMO is enough to explore. Nara Park I slow walked from Kofukuji Temple (the one with 5 story pagoda) --> Todaiji Temple --> Kasuga Shrine, along the way can take time off to feed the deer (all around the park u can see ppl selling the deer crackers for 150yen / 10pcs). So I would say you don't go there specifically to feed deer, you go there to see the three big shrines and 'sun bian' feed the deer ... after that I went back to Nara town area for window shopping and dinner at a random omurice cafe before taking the train back to Osaka.

apart from kobe beef, you can go to mount rokko, and from there go to arima onsen as well. this two places are nice that will take up 1 whole day in kobe. that's provided if you are having a leisurely trip, if time is tight, then might as well skip kobe to concentrate on other places

Kobe is beautiful esp at night. Worth to spend the evening by harborland if you are with your partner. Apart from Mount Rokko, there is also Nunobiki herb En, take the RopeWay at shinkobe.

day 1 looks quite rushed. need time to get to ur hotel first to offload ur luggage and check-in, so there may not be much time left in the morning. also, u may want to take it easy on the first day, since u just arrive after an overnight flight

day 3 seems a bit packed as well. and himeji is still under renovation, so better check which parts are affected.

for day 2, since u are going to the umeda sky building, how about doing some shopping in Umeda area instead of Dotonbori, Den Den town etc? coz these places are all in Namba area, which u are already visiting on day 7

I guess for day 1, I'll choose either one of the museums to visit, and shopping in Tenjinbashi will be quite flex depending on how shag I am. Was hoping to make the most out of the 1 day unlimited Osaka pass

i know himeji under reno but wanted to visit a real castle. the hikone castle seems out of the way and couldn't fit into my itinerary. I was thinking the Kokoen Garden and other parts of castle is still worth a visit. saw pic of some blog with the castle under reno, still can take some pix. For Kobe, main priority is the Kobe beef and Mt Rokko. the rest will skip if no time

will take note of your advise for day 2. but must still go Dotonburi coz of food choices can't finish eating all the stuff i want to try on day 7 alone

many sample itineraries here and in the trip report thread, do take a look to get some ideas.

yes, u can get open-jaw air ticket to fly into tokyo and out from osaka. but open-jaw tickets may be more expensive, so need to consider if it is more economical to travel back to tokyo or to fly out straight from osaka.

if i remember correctly, cathay only charge me $50 more for open-jaw when i flew into nagoya and out from osaka.
SQ usually doesnt allow open-jaw for their promotional fares, so it is gonna be quite expensive.
