if you want to squeeze in Yokohama then u have to remove some of your other itinerary. You only need a SUICA will do.

[is this nara the in kansai? if so, it is too far and expensive to go there.

Thanks for the advice :) So it's not recommend for me to go nara? I'm actually quite interested to go there :(

not recommended coz it takes more than 3hrs to get to nara and cost ard 14k yen one way.
will be better to leave it for another trip coz there are many other places near nara, such as osaka, kyoto and kobe. these places have enuf attractions for a 1-2 weeks trip

it is going to be time consuming and expensive to make the trip to shirakawago.
tokyo to takayama is about 4.5hrs by train, and the bus between takayama and shirakawago take close to 1hr. think it will be very rush.

if u must go shirakawago, i would suggest taking domestic flight from sapporo to Toyama. it is 1.5hr by bus from toyama to shirakawago. stay a night in shirakawago for the winter light up, then head back to tokyo or stay a night in takayama

Hi evilerniex, thanks for your advise. I will take your suggestion to take a domestic flight from Sapporo to Toyama then take the bus to shirakawago. May I know from shirakawago how do I go back to Tokyo ? Is it better to go to takyama then from there back to Tokyo?

If u overnight in shirakawago, u can either take bus to Toyama Station to take train to tokyo or take bus to Kanazawa station to take train to Tokyo. ( Kanazawa is the first station of the new Shinkansen to Tokyo ) it all depends on the bus timing u prefer.

U can also take flight from any Hokkaido airport to Kanazawa n base there. And do day trip to shirakawago if u can't find a place to overnight at shirakawago.

looks ok. i would suggest flying straight from hokkaido to toyama or kanazawa instead of going to tokyo first. it will save u the 4-5hrs of travelling from tokyo to kanazawa, and quite a bit on transport cost. also save u the time and hassle of checking in and out accom for tokyo

You can also consider echigo-yuzawa if your family like skiing or play snow. (An hour train ride from Tokyo) can do it as day trip or overnight there.

In Hokkaido u can consider rusutsu resort. They have snow mobile, n snow trekking activities.

club med sapporo any good?

There are afew ski resort in Hokkaido itself.

So is really all depends on individual preference. If u can ski well then u should look for ski route that suit your style.

If wana learn skiing or just wana play snow activities, there are many local resort nearby Sapporo city itself. All this are good enuf and much much cheaper. They have activities like snow mobile, snow walking etc....

Hope this helps as club med is kind of far compare to other resorts. Unless u can say more about " any good " refer to ?
