Revised itinerary:

Taking into account airfares and evilerniex's recommendations, I've dropped Tokyo from the planned itinerary. Here's the revised one:

Day 1 – SG – Osaka (Kansai International Airport)

Day 2 – Osaka

Day 3 – Osaka

Day 4 – Osaka – Takayama

Day 5 – Day trip to Shin-Otaka Onsen

Day 6 – Takayama – Shirakawa-go
- Check in at farmhouse

Day 7 – Shirakawago – Kanazawa

Day 8 – Kanawama

Day 9 – Kanazawa – Kyoto

Day 10: Kyoto

Day 11 – Kyoto

Day 12 – Kyoto - SG

Looking at this, the 7 days JR pass will be applicable from Days 4 to 10, am I correct?

yup, day 4-10 based on ur itinerary.

u can also consider shifting the Chubu part of ur trip up, then u can use the JR pass from day 1 to day 7 to cover the trip from KIX to osaka.
i.e:
Day 1 – SG – Osaka (Kansai International Airport)
Day 2 – Osaka – Takayama
Day 3 – Day trip to Shin-Otaka Onsen
Day 4 – Takayama – Shirakawa-go
Day 5 – Shirakawago – Kanazawa
Day 6 – Kanawama
Day 7 – Kanazawa – Kyoto

anyway, do calculate the transport cost to see if JR pass is necessary for ur trip

Hi,
I like to check is my sequence correct from Sapporo to Niseko for 1 night, follow by Lake Toya (1 night), Hakodate (1 night) and back to Sapporo?

or go to Lake Toya first than Niseko?

Thank you :)

i have not been there by train, but base on the map, it may be better to go Sapporo - Niseko - Hakodate - Toya - Sapporo
Hokkaido Travel Guide

coz if u go from Niseko to Lake Toya, u are actually travelling slightly backwards. whereas Lake Toya is along the way on the same line back from Hakodate to Sapporo

skytree, temples/shrines in asakusa, and sumida river are in the same area, so maybe u can visit then all on 26th. however, ur itinerary is quite packed for that day since u are going odaiba.

27th is going to be quite packed also coz harajuku and shibuya could have taken the whole day

however, if u want to keep all the places u listed, perhap u can reshuffle ur itinerary a bit. my suggestion:
26th - tsukiji, akihabara, asakusa (skytree, temple, sumida river)
27th - harajuku, shibuya, odaiba
note that 27 is still going to be packed

i dun think u have much time on first day. after clearing customs, travellinng to tokyo, finding hotel and checking in, it is going to be around dinner time. having dinner and exploring ginza is just right. or u can visit somewhere else instead of ginza, such as shibuya or shinjuku for shopping.

not advisable to squeeze odaiba coz odaiba will take at least half a day to explore. i usually cater the whole day for odaiba

Is this practical with JR Pass if i base in Fukuoka? Is it too ambitious to go so many cities? No specific to go place yet... Haven check for first available train out too..

Day 1 fly to tokyo then shinkansen/jr to Fukuoka
Day 2 Fukuoka to Nagasaki
Day 3 Fukuoka to Huis Ten Bosch
Day 4 Fukuoka to Kumamoto
Day 5 Fukuoka to Kagoshima or just to walk around fukuoka and then go to Hiroshima
Day 6 Fukuoka to Hiroshima
Day 7 Hiroshima to Tokyo
Days 8, 9, 10,... Disneysea etc

Osaka according to my friend

Aquarium to shinsaibashi not near. Shinsaibashi denden doutonburi are within walking distance like orchard somerset.

Kiyomizu is now covered up for renovation and previously the place closed at 4.30pm last autumn. Kiyomizu is south eastern while arashiyama is at western so u might want to take note of ur timing.

That time I go Kobe Nara Kyoto osaka using Kansai thru pass for non consecutive days.

For Kyoto traveling on public bus got one day ticket. However if go arashiyama need to top up a little bit forgot how much.

u asking which is better in a japan travel forum?! :s13:

having been to both country, if u ask me, i find korea to be a watered down version of japan with rude ppl. but then i am biased =:p

anyway.. this thread is for discussing itineraries, so please stick to topic. u can probably get better and unbiased response if u post in the main travel forum instead of japan sub-forum

i think i might add in a day trip to Nara, nothing much to do in nagoya..

One more thing is onsen easily found in japan ?
