Will like to check from Asakusa (or from Hiroshima), where should I go in Tokyo to make full use of my JR rail pass (last day of activation)? Can choose to dump my luggage in lockers if i dont check in in Asakusa
Is this practical with JR Pass if i base in Fukuoka? Is it too ambitious to go so many cities? No specific to go place yet... Haven check for first available train out too..
Day 1 fly to tokyo then shinkansen/jr to Fukuoka
Day 2 Fukuoka to Nagasaki
Day 3 Fukuoka to Huis Ten Bosch
Day 4 Fukuoka to Kumamoto
Day 5 Fukuoka to Kagoshima or just to walk around fukuoka and then go to Hiroshima
Day 6 Fukuoka to Hiroshima
Day 7 Hiroshima to Tokyo
Days 8, 9, 10,... Disneysea etc
Hi guys, I will be making a 11 days trip from 9/3/15 to 19/3/15 to Japan and I will like some advise from some Japan experts.
Please help me see whether is my plan feasible and will the 7 days JR Pass will useful for me?
Day 1 - Arrival and spend in Tokyo
Day 2 - Takayama
Day 3 - Kanazawa
Day 4 - Osaka
Day 5 - Kyoto
Day 6 - Kyoto
Day 7 - Nagoya
Day 8 - Hakone
Day 9 - Tokyo
Day 10 - Tokyo
Day 11 - Flight from Tokyo back to SG
This is just a rough guide for me to plan how many days to spend. Then from there I can plan the accommodation too.
Thank u for spending time and providing me with advice.
based on ur itinerary, ur JR pass is already very well make used of. hiroshima to tokyo is more than 5 hrs by shinkansen, so u wun have much time left to travel very far. trips within tokyo is all relatively cheap so dun really need to think of a place to further stretch ur JR pass. just go where u like to go in tokyo.
one comment on ur itinerary... u are making day-trip everyday out of fukuoka and the places u are visiting are all not near fukuoka (except for kumamoto). u are going to spend a lot of time travelling, leaving u with not much time for sightseeing. and it is going to be quite tiring after a few days. u may want to cut down on some of the places and maybe explore fukuoka more, or spend more nights in hiroshima
Day 2 fukuoka to daizaifu - should i activate JR today or day 3 i.e. use the last day for day 9 where I will be in Tokyo touring or disneying? Any other place that I can go after dazaifu, not sure how long will it take?
ur itinerary for 31 Aug is very packed. just shinjuku, harajuku and shibuya is already too much for a day, and u still have roppongi.
for 6 Sep, u can consider going Odaiba, or cover those places u didnt managed to cover on 31 Aug.
make sure u purchase ur Ghilbi museum tickets early in order to get the slot u want. best to buy it moment u arrive in japan
guys should i try to squeeze in tokyo in my 7 days?
my plan was to cover nagoya, osaka, kyoto and nara.![]()
wow... u are covering quite a lot of places in one trip. seems like touch-and-go for some places. after factoring the long travel time and checking into hotels, u probably have half a day left for those places u are spending a night only
7-days JR pass is most likely going to be worth it since u have many long trips. u can work out the cost of these trips using hyperdia and compare it to the cost of the JR pass.
any reason for going Nagoya on day 7? coz it is actually along the way from Tokyo to Takayama. u may want to reshuffle the order a bit.
Thanks for ur reply! Actually I don't really know how to go about planning it.
Maybe I should just stick to Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo for my duration? Will that be more sufficient for each location?
Actually I have never heard of Takayama and Kanazawa. I am interested to see the snow capped Shirakawa-go. But I doubt there will be any snow left at that period.

ill be visiting kyoto, doing day trips before returning back to osaka. will only cover kyoto for 2 days, what sites to recommend, and route?
so far i looked a bit and sites that look more appealing to me are
nijo castle, nishiki market, kiyomizu, kinkakuji, inari shrine
is it possible to cover these within 2 day?
if possible can insert in Arashiyama
so far i planned, nijo -> Nishiki for lunch -> kiyomizu (reach 1530)
already take whole day
Hi all,
need help for my tokyo itinerary.
Day 1. Arrive at Narita Airport 11am(via scoot). Proceed to airbnb at Otsuka.
Rest awhile before proceeding to Shinjuku.
Day 2. Imperial Palace, Ginza, World trade centre( for views of Tokyo tower)
Day 3 Shibuya and Harajuku.
Day 4 Mt Fuji 1 day tour. Shinjuku at night.
Day 5 Asaskusa, Ueno, Edo-tokyo musuem
Day 6 Odaiba
Day 7 Tsukiji market, Akihabara
Day 8. Flight back to Singapore at 4pm.
My airbnb host stated that to reach Otsuka it'll be taking Keisei Skyliner and then transfer at Nippori to Otsuka.I'm looking at Keisei Skyliner and Metro pass.
Is there any better options to reach Otsuka from Narita Airport?
Just want to ask experts out there. Is the 3 day metro pass a good deal based on the places I'm going?( i can switch and swap the days to match 3 days for the metro pass)
Can the metro pass be also used on JR yamanote line?. So if let say I have to transfer from JR line to Tokyo metro. I have to use suica card and a metro card?
Regards
kansai experts,
Osaka/kyoto day pass around 800 yen per day, 2400 yen for 3 days
kansai thur pass 3800 yen for 2 days, 5000 yen for 3 days
Still worth getting the kansai thru pass? i know can get discount here and there but is it really worth?
sorry, trying to saave as much as possible so i can spend more..![]()
